The Lions vs. Rams game was an absolute thriller. And Travis and Jason Kelce were among the first to rave about its spectacle. The game really could have swung in either team’s favor. But the Lions just managed to scrape through 24-23. Jared Goff, the Lions’ QB, was the protagonist of the entire show. So, what praises did the two brothers shower on him?

“Probably felt real good,” was the elder Kelce’s reaction as they discussed the game. They both agreed that it was the only “good” game of the week. And Travis agreed that Goff “handled it real classy”. If anyone had doubts regarding Goff’s abilities as a player, they were all shut down after the Rams game.
And Goff was really happy to get that victory too. Even before the game kicked off, the stadium came alive with chants of “Jared Goff”. Why? It so happens that Goff had been traded by the Rams for Matthew Stafford in 2021. Now it was payback time! Goff especially dominated the field during the first half. After the clock ran out, he had raked in 277 passing yards. Of his 27 passes, 22 were successful, and he did not once throw an interception.
Why was this win so significant for the Lions?

This is actually the team’s first postseason victory since 1992. That’s a more than 30-year playoff drought! It also happens to be the longest playoff drought in the league’s history. And they hadn’t hosted a playoff game in the same amount of time. If you had been in the stadium, it would be clear that fans were super excited. And the game that could have been won by any team, kept them on their toes throughout.
Where did the Rams fall short? They failed to pressure Goff enough. He completed 100% of his passes when he was not pressured. However, when he was, he missed all of his passes. He was even sacked thrice. Now the Lions will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on January 21. Now as the team prepares for the Divisional Round, will he manage to stay consistent? Or was it just a one-time thing and the Lions’ Super Bowl dreams will crash on Monday?
