Georgia tight end, Brock Bowers, was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. And the way he performed this season being a rookie is surely impressive. With his back-to-back records, be it the most receiving yards or receptions in a rookie season, Bowers made his place into this year’s Pro Bowl. Despite all these, the TE still thinks he is not that great. Wait, what?

The NFL recently announced the AFC and NFC Pro Bowl roster list, and Brock Bowers made it in his rookie season. But despite having a historic season, Bowers showed his modesty by saying, “I still feel like I s-ck sometimes. Lose a rep here and there… it just pis-es me off.” Well, as NFL insider Dov Kleiman’s official X account put it, with his grounded nature and response, Bowers “has the mindset of a vet at only 22 years old.”

Without any doubt, Brock Bowers is rewriting NFL history. The Raiders’s rookie tight end is having a season for the ages. Against the Saints in December, Bowers broke two monumental records. First, he surpassed Mike Ditka’s 1961 mark for most receiving yards (1,076) by a rookie tight end, by making 1,087 (still counting).

Then again, he shattered the rookie receptions record (105), previously held by Puka Nacua. But Brock Bowers isn’t done. With 108 catches so far, he’s closing in on Zach Ertz’s all-time single-season receptions record (116) for a tight end, set in 2018. If he manages nine catches against the Chargers in the season finale, he’ll claim that title too in his 17th game.

Although it took 16 games for Ertz to achieve this feat, Brock Bowers’s season will still be considered as a great rookie time. And despite these, the important thing is Bowers focus for more. That’s the reason the NFL community is loving him, giving him a chance in the Pro Bowl. But he isn’t alone.

Apart from Brock Bowers, another Raider made history!

Although the Raiders are eliminated from the playoff selection, some of the team’s players have definitely made their mark this time. Besides Brock Bowers, Maxx Crosby too is in the spotlight again. As per the Raiders’s official X account, “DE Maxx Crosby (@CrosbyMaxx) has now been selected to his 4th-straight Pro Bowl.

This season, despite being injured, in 12 games, Crosby made 26 solo tackles, 17 assists and 7.5 sacks with 0 fumble recoveries. But that’s just about the stats. Besides it, “he is also 1-of-15 players in the NFL to be selected to the Pro Bowl in each of the last four seasons” from 2021 to 2024. Maxx Crosby’s “4 Pro Bowls are now tied with Chester McGlockton for the second most among defensive linemen in #Raiders history.” Which means, the Raiders’s star player only trails Howie Long, who has 8 Pro Bowls to his name.

However, the Raiders are yet to prove their strength in an NFL season. Who knows, maybe it’s next?
