The results of the NFL Pro Bowl games are finally in and the NFC trumped the AFC. Again! However, it was a watered event as a lot of the selected players opted to skip entirely. And it’s not just the ones who are participating in the Super Bowl the coming weekend. A handful of non-Super Bowl participating players also decided to sit out the games due to injury concerns or personal reasons.
In total, twenty-seven players were replaced with alternates. Yet, with all the changes in the team, the NFC ended up securing a more stable spot, grabbing another victory for themselves. Astonishingly, when it comes to the Pro Bowl in a general scenario, the AFC is undoubtedly known to be the better conference. In the last seven years, the AFC has won five times over its counterpart. Then, how did the NFC create a streak here and grab their second consecutive win?

Picture this: the AFC was all pumped up for a game-winning drive. But their dreams were dashed when the NFC defense swooped in and made a clutch stop at the 3-yard line. Houston Texans’ QB C.J. Stroud, the rookie sensation, fired a pass to Keenan Allen but CB Jaylon Johnson shut it down. And it led to a turnover on downs with just four ticks left on the clock. At last, the NFC came out on top in the Pro Bowl games with a final score of 64-59.

C.J. Stroud was on fire today! He stole the show with a whopping 173 yards on 18-of-22 passing. The rookie seemed to be rubbing shoulders with the big names. But alas, victory slipped through their fingers as the NFC star CeeDee Lamb brought some sizzle with three touchdown catches. And WR Amon-Ra St. Brown showed his skills with 10 catches for 117 yards and a touchdown for the NFC.
And it’s not just about flag football. In the skill games as well, the NFC utterly dominated the AFC to grab overall victory.

The opening night was a rollercoaster of skills, challenges, and showdowns. Tampa Bay’s Baker Mayfield outshone everyone in the precision passing challenge. He ensured that the NFC had a 12-6 lead over the AFC after his splendid performance. Stroud didn’t have an easy road though. He had to conquer Tua Tagovailoa and Gardner Minshew to earn his spot in the precision passing final.
However, the NFC wasn’t just good at precision passing. They flexed their muscles in other challenges too! Closest to the pin golf accuracy? Check. Dodgeball? Double-check. Snapshots, where centers and long snappers aimed at targets? Triple-check. Here, the AFC, though, clawed back some points. They snagged wins in one dodgeball game, acing the high stakes challenge. Overall, the NFC left no chance for the AFC to recover after their dominant performance.
