All of us would be pretty familiar with Maxx Crosby’s toughness on the field. Like the man from Sin City was built to play in defense. 4-Pro Bowl accolades in just 6 years in the league—how many players have you seen achieve that feat? Not many! However, it seems like tough players also go through difficult times off the field. And Crosby, for one, has given us some concerning news about his family. Let’s just say—it’s pretty close to his heart.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Crosby fosters three Pit Bulls: Brooklyn, Leo, and Durk. Among them, Durk is the biggest, whom Crosby apparently rescued from West Virginia. And today’s news is about Durk, who suddenly popped up on Crosby’s Instagram story. But it wasn’t a joyous moment. Instead, Durk was found with a sad face on his little bed at Crosby’s home. With the Raiders DE asking for players: “My Boy Durk got ACL surgery. Send him some prayers. He’s Thuggin it out right now. WARRIOR.”

Judging by Crosby’s apparent injury update on his big XL pit, don’t you feel they bear a close connection? Like you when said back in 2020, “I look at Pit Bulls like I look at myself.” That is more than true right now. Similar to Durk, even his owner had to go through a season-ending arthroscopic ankle surgery. Crosby hurt his ankle in week 2 but didn’t give it the proper rest required. And that proved to be costly as he reaggravated that injury against Tampa Bay back in December.

That eventually led to Crosby getting ruled out for the entire season, with the Raiders having a 2-11 record. He even took to Instagram to express his disappointment of not being able to help his teammates: “As much as this pains me to write. I will not be playing the rest of the season. As much as it pains me to not go to war with my brothers and for the fans, I truly believe everything happens for a reason.” See, with Crosby still in rehab and the dire circumstances the Raiders have found themselves in with no head coach or GM. There were even rumors of Crosby leaving Vegas. But will those rumors really come true?

Maxx Crosby assesses his future in Las Vegas

See, the Raiders have a new management in place, and a possible clean-up of the locker room is expected soon. However, can they really get rid of someone who’s been there for the last 6 years? Like Crosby wasn’t fortunate enough to find stability in Las Vegas. Over the last seven seasons, the Raiders have changed 5 coaches. So, it could clearly test anyone’s patience, but Crosby, for one, lives and breathes Vegas air, “I love being a Raider. I want to win here…But we’ll see.” This means he continues to keep his options open with a possible move elsewhere.

And that’s when The 33rd Team popped up. They feel Crosby’s skill would be an ideal match for the Packers’ defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley’s system. However, can it really happen? See, Tom Brady is just getting started as the Raiders’ minority owner. And it’s an open secret: he is the one calling the shots right now. He was the one who persuaded the Raiders owner, Mark Davis, to move on from both Antonio Pierce and Tom Telesco. And losing Crosby before he brings a head coach in could be a sucker punch in Brady’s future plans.
