The Pittsburgh Steelers‘ defense faced huge trouble in the game against the Indianapolis Colts. After the defeat against the New England Patriots, the Steelers were on a quest to clinch a victory, but that didn’t happen. Eager for a victory, the Steelers faced major injuries in the game, which led to one of the major reasons for deciding the game’s result.

The Colts dominated the Steelers. After trailing by 13 points, the Colts secured a victory by 17 points over the Steelers. However, it was the Steelers’ defense that collapsed due to the injuries. 

The Steelers’ defense is in trouble

The Pittsburgh Steelers senior director of communications, Burt Lauten, took to his Twitter account to share the news that Steelers defensive tackle Trenton Thompson suffered an injury and was listed as questionable to return to the game against the Indianapolis Colts. 

Sharing the news, Lauten wrote, “The Steelers S Trenton Thompson suffered a stinger and is questionable to return to today’s game.” However, Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick also suffered a knee injury during the game and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

However, the Colts secured a staggering victory against the Steelers. With this victory, the Colts are standing strong in the race to the playoffs. Whereas, the Steelers have little to no chance of qualifying for the playoffs.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Indianapolis Colts

Below the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Colts are in the second position in the NFC South division. With eight victories and six defeats, the Colts are still intact in their playoff aspirations. Whereas the Pittsburgh Steelers are at the bottom of the AFC North division with seven victories and seven defeats this season so far. After the 13-point lead by the Steelers, the Colts restricted the Steelers from scoring a single point and went on to score 30 points.

The Colts QB, Gardner Minshew, was in his A-game. He threw for three touchdowns and completed 18 of 28 passes for 215 yards. However, the Colts also suffered injuries to Zack Moss and Michael Pittman Jr. Despite the injuries and the 13-point trail, the Colts managed to emerge victorious in the game.
