The sky is the limit, and Haason Reddick wants to cross it. The Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher is setting himself up for the start of a new season. However, it comes with a catch. Reportedly, he is trying to negotiate a new contract. If everything goes right, Reddick could become one of the highest-paid linebackers in the NFL.
Despite the Eagles crumbling in the playoffs, their LB has high expectations. After they did a significant reshuffle of their coaching roster, one would not help but wonder whether Reddick’s demands are the top priority for the team. The Eagles might have bigger problems to deal with considering Jalen Hurts’ dismal season, AJ Brown expressing issues with the team, and Jason Kelce presumably on the cusp of retiring.

Philadelphia Eagles Central posted Haason Reddick’s ask of the Eagles. He seeks a renewed deal to offer him over a $25 million yearly salary.
The post was captioned, “Haason Reddick is seeking a new contract that’s been rumored to be upwards of $25 million per year although it’s unclear right now if the #Eagles are going to be the team that gives it to him. A $25 million average contract would make Haason Reddick one of the top 5 highest-paid edge rushers in the league.”

If everything goes according to plan, Reddick will pass veterans like Khalil Mack, who is among the top 5 in salary rankings as of 2023. Mack’s annual salary is nearly $23 million yearly for six years ($141 million). Nick Bosa ($34 million a year), TJ Watt ($28 million), Joe Bosa ($27 million ), and Myles Garrett ($25 million a year) are some of the highest-paid edge rushers in the league right now.
Looking at his numbers, the Philadelphia team might seriously consider his demands.

Reddick’s contract with the Eagles explained
The LB signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022 for a 3-year $45 million deal. He got a signing bonus of $14,215,000 and a guaranteed $30,000,000. He has a current base salary of $14,250,000 with a signing bonus of $2,843,000, a workout bonus of $250,000, optional earnings of about $3 million, and another million as a roster bonus.

This year, he had 38 total tackles, of which 29 were solo ones. The LB finished the season with 11 sacks (tied to 15th). He was tied fourth in total sacks during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. It only makes sense for the Eagles to try and work things out with him. Per reports, a significant amount of his contract will be fulfilled by the end of his time with the Eagles.
But if you compare his performance to Khalil Mack, who has 57 solo tackles and 17 sacks this season, the Eagles might consider his stats and question Reddick about his decision to revise his contract. However, Reddick has no desire to be traded if things don’t work according to his plan.

He could negotiate something like Patrick Mahomes, where he got the Chiefs to pay him early.
