Is the unpredictable Soldier Field weather the real MVP in the Bears vs. Patriots showdown?

The week 10 is here. There is a race. Those who fell behind in the early stages are trying to come back while those who stayed in the mix are trying to move ahead. New England Patriots, with 2 wins and 7 losses, are eyeing a respectable finish to the season. The Chicago Bears have a 4-4 win-loss record and want a playoff seat. But there’s another buzzing topic. The weather at the Soldier Field Stadium. We got the update.

The skies are expected to be sunny with the temperature ranging between 62° F and 47° F. But surprise is also there! The weather forecast shows a chance of rain showers, so better go to the game prepared with a jacket or anything that could protect you from rain. Umbrellas aren’t permitted so you could bring any waterproof cloth. The stadium isn’t covered or with a roof that would protect you from the drizzle.

It could be pretty windy too. Gusts as high as 30 mph could be there along with 10 to 20 mph winds flowing from south to west. The precipitation would be lesser, only 30%. But the grass surface becomes slippery. However, if it rains along with the winds, then the chances of players slipping go up highly.

The game will begin at noon CST. Those enjoying it from the comfort of their homes can tune to FOX and also stream the game on FoxSports.com and NFL+. The fans are ready for this exciting contest.

There’s one thing that has made the game hot. Both teams came in the season with the rookie quarterbacks.

Battle of Rookies at the Soldier Field Stadium

The 2024 NFL Draft was historic. In the first round, 6 quarterbacks were selected by different teams. Previously, it had happened in 1983. Out of those six, Caleb Williams from the Bears and Drake Maye from the Patriots would be fighting for a win on November 10.

While Williams was being rated highly during the offseason, he hasn’t been able to produce the magic. There could be several reasons, the team doesn’t have a very lethal O-line. Till week 10, the rookie has 162 of 264 passes (61.4% completion rate) in 1,665 passing yards with 9 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He would be up against Maye in the Soldier Field Stadium.

On the other hand, Maye wasn’t an obvious choice for the Pats. They initially started with Jacoby Brissett but after going down 1-4 after 5 weeks, it had to be done. In 4 games, he recorded 82 of 125 passes (65.6% completion rate) in 770 passing yards with 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
