The Patrick Mahomes officiating saga isn’t just getting over, even after the final verdict has been called on the topic. The league imposed a hefty fine on the QB and doubled that amount on his coach. Mahomes even had a sweet comeback from the Bills game with a dominant win over the Patriots, making the punishment irrelevant.

But just when everything seemed to have cooled down, Patriots’ Matthew Judon raised the heat once again. It looks like he has not taken the loss well, as he indicated that Mahomes has been getting a favor from the referees. Even though the QB is yet to react to the dig, Judon’s way of calling the QB out was unexpected.

The Patriots continued their downfall against a redemption-aspired Chiefs. But not everyone on the losing side was prepared to accept their 11th loss of the season. One of them is LB, Matthew Judon, who reposted a controversial post in X (formerly, Twitter) to take a jibe at the Chiefs’ QB.

The post shows a superimposed image of Patrick Mahomes kissing an NFL referee during a game. Originally posted by an account named Lil Sodo, the linebacker reposted it with a caption that read “I see no lies”, insisting Mahomes had a great relationship with the officials and has been getting a favor from them. Likely, Judon was not happy with some particular decision from the Chiefs game and thus the attack.

It’ll be interesting to see if Mahomes takes action against the LB, or just lets it go. But all that drama doesn’t change the fact that Mahomes got the redemption he was hoping for after facing a huge fine from the league.

The fine imposed on him was the third disappointment in line for the Chiefs QB. The series started with the Packers‘ loss in early December. Coming back to home field, things didn’t change for Mahomes at all. They lost the Bills game, and Mahomes raised eyebrows with comments on officiating after a game-changing touchdown from the side was ruled out.

Although Mahomes apologized to Josh Allen and the fans for letting it out with emotions, the league was not convinced. The damage had been done and the QB and Andy Reid were slapped with $25k and $50k fines, respectively. But Mahomes proved he was unbothered by the act as his 305-yard, 2-TD display became the deciding factor in the December 17 contest.

However, Matthew Judon has muddied the waters with his act once again. Will the linebacker face punishment from the league for the post, or will it go unnoticed and eventually die down with time? Tell us what you think.
