With 41 receptions for 382 yards, he has been an important part of the Rams offense. And it appears that a Patriots coach sees him differently than the others.

Well, that is true, and the coach in question is Mike Pellegrino. As the cornerback’s coach for the Patriots, Pellegrino keeps an eye on every player of their next opponent. And looks like the man is very interested in Cooper Kupp. He is impressed with his abilities and is looking for ways to counter him. The coach has stated that Kupp’s performance on the field reminds him of another outstanding receiver, Julian Edelman. But how are Cooper Kupp and Julian Edelman the same? Well, Mike Pellegrino had a response to that, too. The man indicated that Kupp normally uses a single approach when picking his path. The WR uses his head to look somewhere else and do a fake run before proceeding with the route that he has decided on. This makes it tough for the opposition to anticipate his next move and counterattack him.

Mike Pellegrino said that this was the same strategy that helped Julian Edelman become a legend. The former player would do the same thing, and it always worked. Maybe you would have seen him. The reporter stated, “Pellegrino said Kupp uses head fakes to disguise which way he’s breaking on option routes like Edelman did.”

It will be interesting to see whether Cooper Kupp can maintain these great stats near the end of his career. As in recent months, there have been whispers that the Rams will trade him. However, the WR has put an end to this myth.
