You’ve heard of sibling rivalry, but what about spousal rivalry? Well, I suppose it’s not exactly rivalry, both Brittany and Patrick Mahomes support each other. But it can only be healthy competition to see your wife support someone else’s success and wish to match that success. Even if technically you kind of a had a role to play in that very success.
Right, enough beating around the bush, here’s the long story short. The National Women’s Soccer League has just come to an end, and though the Kansas City Current didn’t win, there is something worth celebrating. KC Current finished at 4th out of 14 teams, but more than that, they had some standout performances. The best example is Temwa Chawinga, the team’s forward from Malawi, who was awarded the league’s MVP. Brittany Mahomes celebrated this with a post on her story congratulating her.

The Kansas City Current is a brand new team, founded only in 2021. And you already know who had a hand in that, right? Not just Brittany Mahomes, a former pro soccer player herself, but her husband, Patrick Mahomes too. In those four years, the KC Current has made it to the finals once, and the semi-finals twice, not bad right? The young franchise has clearly shown they’ve got spunk, and they’ve set the standard in women’s soccer. That’s an investment the Mahomes won’t regret.
Speaking of MVPs based out of Kansas, what’s the news on Patrick Mahomes? Well, the Kansas City Chiefs have been head and shoulders above the rest of the league, the Lions being the only exception. But how much of that is down to Mahomes specifically?

In a bit of a shocker, Sports Illustrated doesn’t even put him in their top 5 for the MVP race, as of November 19th. They’ve decided, in order, to rank Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, and Saquon Barkely. And when you look at the list laid out like that, it kind of makes sense. Can Mahomes turn those odds around? Well, he’s still got a few games to prove himself. Let’s see how it goes.

If you’ve had your ear to the ground, you’ve heard about Kelce and the Mahomes being robbed. It wasn’t pretty, but it wasn’t a smash and grab job. The criminals in question knew exactly what they were looking for. Loose cash was picked up, so were trophies, sports jerseys, and all sorts of memorabilia.

Designer bags and clothing were recognized and pocketed as well. And could it have been a coincidence that both were burglarized within less than 24 hours of each other? No, and the NFL doesn’t think so either.
Suspicions of a South American crime ring being involved might sound fantastical, but these aren’t isolated cases. Apparently, other wealthy households have been targeted and stolen from as well. NFL players are being advised to beef up security around their houses. This stretches to everything from cameras and burglar alarms to even guard dogs. Scary days to be an athlete, but at least nobody was seriously hurt.
