Patrick Mahomes is utilizing his offseason wisely. Apart from working out ahead of the upcoming season, the Kansas City Chiefs star is also spending quality time with family. With America watching the recent solar eclipse through safety glasses, the Mahomes clan joined in the fun and shared some adorable moments on their social media.

Last seen in 2017 in North America, families got together to spectate the rare celestial event on Monday. The Chiefs’ QB posted an Instagram story of his three-year-old daughter and wrote “Mood” as Sterling gazed up at the sky, waiting for a glimpse of the rare occurrence while wearing safety glasses.

Brittany also posted a video of the father-daughter duo watching the total eclipse as young Sterling exclaims, “I see the moon!” The three-time MVP follows her reaction with a “Daaang!” as the sun gets shadowed by the moon. In one of the videos, we also got a glimpse of Mahomes’ ‘protective dad’ side as he rushed to put on glasses for his wandering toddler.

All this while, Bronze doesn’t seem to be very interested in the whole affair and chooses to sit this one out. Brittany posted a picture of her 14-month-old son sitting disinterested, holding a cleaning brush on her Instagram story, with the text, “Meanwhile Bronze…” along with some laughing emojis. She also showed their two pets confined inside the house, saying that the dogs “don’t get to participate. Cause they don’t wear glasses!

The only one left out of the fun was seemingly Mahomes’ mother, Randi, who took to X to express her qualms. She complained about one important feature lacking in her phone: “a solar eclipse setting”!

The Chiefs’ quarterback wasn’t the only one to partake in the eclipse viewing, though, as A.J. Browns chose to give a practical science lesson about the event while other teams had some hilarious safety messages for their fans.

Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs and the NFL world celebrated the eclipse with humor!

While Mahomes’ heartwarming moments with his family melted all our hearts, the NFL teams had a more fun way of referencing the cosmic event. The Chiefs posted a picture of Travis Kelce with fists pumped up, wearing a WWE belt and red sunglasses with the caption, “We’re ready for you @eclipse.

The Philadelphia Eagles jumped on the eclipse train too, posting a hilarious safety announcement with a picture of Jalen Hurts in yellow sunglasses on X. Along with a Spongebob meme of a fish’s retinas burning up, the team reminded their fans to use the safety glasses for viewing the eclipse.

WR A.J. Brown came live on Instagram and gave a homemade demonstration of the eclipse for his fans. “Don’t talk to me about no football, I’m out here trying to look at the sun,” said Brown in the amusing Livestream. He used a flashlight to represent the sun and moved his Amazon glasses over it as the moon.  “Ya’ll know we live in a globe anyway,” said the Eagles reciever. “They ain’t got nothing but a flashlight up there anyway and then put a little quarter or something to cover up the light. That’s all they’re doing. This is all the eclipse is.”
