Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady share many similarities on field, but the ͏Kansas͏ City Chiefs st͏ar has no plans to endure a roast. During ͏an appearance on The Pat͏ McAfee Show, Mahome͏s made it clear that he would stay away from roasts.

When host Pat McAfee asked Mahomes, “When Tom and you talk about, you know, advice and stuff, he says, ‘Uh, they’re gonna come for you, people are gonna hate you, you’re gonna have to rebuild your team multiple times, and don’t ever do a roast.’ Is that how it goes?” To this, Mahomes replied, “I will definitely be staying away from the roast. That was, when I heard, they actually asked me to go to it and I was like, man, I just can’t even believe that this is happening.”

Reflecting on Brady’s roast, Mahomes acknowledged, “There were some funny moments in there. I will give that. The comedians did a good job, but roast, I mean, there’s no rules. You kind of just have to go out there and just, and just sit there and listen to everybody talk trash about you. So I will stay away from that, throughout my lifetime, and try to just stay on the straight and narrow.”

The Brady roast on Netflix was a massive success and Brady and his production company were credited as executive producers and will continue in that role for future roasts on the platform. However, the event was tough for people in Brady’s immediate circle. The seven-time Super Bowl champion stated he was fine with the jokes aimed at him, but “didn’t like the way that it affected my kids.” Topics at the roast included his divorce from Gisele Bundchen, losing millions in crypto, and the New England Patriots‘ cheating scandals.

Mahomes doesn’t have the off-field profile Brady had, making him a tougher subject to roast. He has even joked about sounding like Kermit the Frog. As of now, he is just 28. If Mahomes postponed the roast until he is 46, Brady’s current age, he might think about it.
