The Kansas City Chiefs are the winners once again! The NFL fans witnessed a Super Bowl LVIII overtime second time in NFL’s history. And as the rules were confusing for many, it also perplexed the Chiefs wide receiver, Mecole Hardman.
The seventh-longest game in the history of the NFL also led to the Chiefs becoming the first team to repeat as Super Bowl champion in nearly two decades. There was a time when nothing was going right for the Red Team, but then the script changed. The Chiefs won the overtime Super Bowl LVIII game with their last-minute touchdown by Mecole Hardman. In a post-game reaction, Patrick Mahomes revealed Hardman’s baffling thoughts.

Patrick Mahomes shared a funny story about Mecole Hardman!
After Patrick Mahomes threw his last pass to Mecole Hardman, the wide receiver immediately went for a touchdown, consequently leading the Chiefs to the Super Bowl victory. However, the moment he made the touchdown, Hardman didn’t know that he and the Chiefs Kingdom won the Super Bowl. Recalling the incident, Hardman said in an interview on the field, “I blacked out man. I forgot we actually won the game.”

Patrick Mahomes sprinted from behind, and informed the coverage reporters, a funny story, “I threw a touchdown to this dude to end the game, and he looked at me. He had no idea. I said, ‘Dude, we just won the Super Bowl.’ He had no idea. He didn’t even celebrate at the beginning.”
Hardman then embarrassingly commented, “It’s time to celebrate now.”
Although Hardman experienced a blackout, NFL history will indeed remember the tricky last touchdown from him and Mahomes.

With only 10 seconds left on the clock, and the San Francisco 49ers leading the Chiefs with 3 points after a successful field goal, the game unfolded according to Andy Reid’s strategy. Mecole Hardman, executing the plan, initially moved inside, to trick the 49ers players. Shortly after Patrick Mahomes gained possession of the ball, Hardman abruptly changed direction and sprinted toward the end zone.

The quarterback threw a precise pass to him, and Hardman swiftly carried it for a 3-yard touchdown. While the Niners gave a tough fight, the Chiefs finally sealed a 25-22 overtime victory at Sin City’s Allegiant Stadium. The Super Bowl LVIII was indeed a display of Mahomes and his team’s legacy. And yes, they did it once again!
