The Raiders and Chiefs are throwing Hail Marys before the season even kicks off! A Raider Nation fan went all out at training camp, bringing ‘Kermit the Frog’ dressed as Patrick Mahomes. Even a wig mimicking Mahomes’ hair was on it to poke fun at his signature hair. Talk about a playful jab! But true to his clutch form, the Chiefs’ QB fired back with a cool-as-ice comeback.
On the 26th of July, during the press conference at the training camp, Pat was asked to comment on the bitter Raiders fan’s antics. He quipped, “It’s still early in the year. Stuff like that happens. It’ll get handled when it gets handled.” While he might have smirked it off, it was anything but. While the silver and black team is prepping for the season, they should steel themselves for the Super Bowl MVP’s red-hot form.

When asked if anyone from his ‘people’ – peers, teammates – had shared the video with him, he said, “Not really, honestly.” He added that his teammates let him run his own playbook and keep him motivated. Seems like Pat’s playbook is more about keeping the spotlight on his game, not the sidelines.
The situation kicked off with a viral video of Raiders’ safety Trey Taylor donning the puppet and saying, “I’m a bitch,” as laughter breaks in the background. But the fun didn’t stop there—someone in the background pipes up with, “I’m here! I’m here!” Well, if you have been keeping up with the gridiron rivalries you would get the reference. If not, then fear not. We have you covered.
Remember that fiery exchange between Mahomes and Raiders’ defensive end Maxx Crosby? In the Chiefs’ 30-29 nail-biter on October 10, 2022, Mahomes was heard yelling, “I’m here!” at Crosby. The tension was so intense, it even made it into the famous Netflix documentary ‘Quarterback’. The Raiders’ dig aimed right at this moment. Not only that, but by doing so, they were also trying to get a message across that Pat’s voice is comparable to the Muppet character. Talk about a mic drop!
This is when Bobby Stroupe, Mahomes’ personal trainer, stepped in with a tweet, replying, “We will remember.” Covering the QB like a seasoned offensive lineman, even off the field.

Meanwhile, Mahomes’ “It’ll get handled” line should have Raider Nation on high alert. It’s like the QB’s calling an audible—something big is coming! Especially with his 10-2 record against the Raiders, you know this play is setting up to be one for the books. At least, this ex-Chiefs player knows as he simplifies Patrick Mahomes’ response.
Former Chiefs teammate ‘translates’ Patrick Mahomes’ response
Mitchell Schwartz, a 4-time All-Pro, has seen more big moments than a highlight reel on repeat. As a former offensive tackle, he’s all about making plays that count. Having hoisted the Super Bowl LIV trophy with the Chiefs in 2019, he’s no stranger to the Raiders’ rivalry—and he’s been right in the thick of it!

Now, Schwartz is backing his old buddy, Patrick Mahomes, with a zinger that hits harder than a sack. After Mahomes’ playful reply to the Kermit the Frog slander, Schwartz re-tweeted with a sassy twist: “Translation: You done f***** up.” It’s a digital smack down that speaks louder than any on-field tackle.
So, circle October 27th on your calendar! Mahomes and the Chiefs will be looking to bring their A-game and settle the offseason score. The mental games have already started between the bitter rivals. But the big question remains. Will Allegiant Stadium turn into a Silver and Black celebration zone or a gridiron graveyard for the Raiders?
