Patrick Mahomes doesn’t mince his words when it comes to talking about his faith and beliefs. Just on the eve of Super Bowl LIX, there was this one reporter who asked Patrick, “Who is Jesus to you?” Some might take a few seconds to think of their perfect answer. But not Patrick he simply said, “Jesus is my Lord and Savior. That’s someone I look up to every single day, decide what I wanna do with my life. Jesus is everything to me at the end of the day.” Well, his strong belief in Christianity may not have helped him win a 3-peat a few days later. But Mahomes’ loyalty and respect to the Almighty remain unwavering as he gears up to celebrate Easter Sunday.

To be honest, there hasn’t been anyone like Mahomes who has been consistently outspoken about his love for Jesus Christ. From Super Bowls to MVPs, Pro Bowls to All-Pros, to being the face of the whole NFL, Mahomes owes it all to his faith. “I try to give God all the credit. He gave me this platform to showcase my skills and play the sport I love, and that’s always at the top of the list,” Mahomes revealed. Mahomes’ gratefulness to God has even led him to recite his favorite bible verse whenever he gears up to ace a challenge.

“Acts 20:7-12. It’s about a boy named Eutychus and his faith, hearing a sermon, falling, dying and coming back to life. In that moment, it spoke to me about how I need to live my life. And how I need to be totally committed to God,” Mahomes quipped. His undeniable commitment to Jesus Christ led him to churn out a powerful message on Easter Sunday. With the whole Christian world celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Mahomes wrote on X, “He Is Risen ✝️.” Those three words are enough to give goosebumps to all Jesus Christ followers out there. And he is not the only one in Kansas City to send a faithful message on Easter.

Even the Chiefs’ owner, Clark Hunt’s wife, Tavia Hunt, made a lovely post on Easter. With her whole family present, leaving behind only Gracie, Tavia wrote on her caption, “He is risen!..Hope lives. Love wins. Jesus reigns. Missing you @graciehunt. Happy Easter.” Well, Easter celebrations weren’t just limited to the Chiefs’ Kingdom. Even Dak Prescott followed Patrick Mahomes’ footsteps to wish everyone Happy Easter.

Dak Prescott chimes in to commemorate Easter

Like Mahomes, Dak Prescott is a massive advocate of his faith. He runs a Faith, Fight, Finish foundation that focuses on empowering individuals, families and even communities going through adversity. It’s a foundation that his whole family inspired him to open. Faith, Fight, Finish Foundation is a tribute to his mom, Peggy, who lost her battle to colon cancer back in 2013. “Fight” stands for Prescott’s older brother, Jace, because of his never-give-up attitude. “Finish” is for his middle brother, Elliot, who apparently lived with Prescott’s mom throughout her battle with cancer, with a semester left in his college degree.

And finally, “Faith” is Prescott himself because “Just the simple fact of always keeping my relationship with God and that was the reason I was Faith,” Prescott once revealed. There are faith tattoos all over his body. His shoulder references the verses of Corinthians 9:25. Prescott’s chest tattoo reads, “Beyond Blessed.” He also sometimes writes ‘Faith’ on his wrist to remember his mother, while getting ‘Mom’ tattooed on the same. So, Prescott’s belief in God also matches Patrick Mahomes’ thoughts. Both Mahomes and Prescott show how their belief in the Almighty has led them to achieve so much in the NFL. Not just on the gridiron, both Prescott and Mahomes owe their professional and personal happiness to Jesus Christ.
