The Chiefs are out for vengeance on the entire league. It’s them vs the rest. Just as the fans were stacked prior to Super Bowl LIX. Patrick Mahomes is serious about their comeback this year with his revenge tour. Everyone on the roster wants to win the ultimate prize. Super Bowl LX! To do that, the HC Andy Reid has to sort out the department that affected them the most… injuries! In 2024, they missed their top performing receiver in 2023, Rashee Rice. This year, he has returned with a warning.

On March 8, he tweeted out against other 31 NFL teams, “By the time it comes for me to be back on that field, there’s not going to be no questions about what I was doing this offseason.” Looks like his recovery from the PCL injury is going smooth.

In 17 games (8 as a starter) in his rookie year, he had 79 receptions for 938 receiving yards and 7 TDs that helped them win the Super Bowl. But his 2024 season was cut short by injury. Patrick Mahomes collided with him in the week 4 game against the LA Chargers. It ended his season.

The HC-QB duo were confident he would make a comeback. But the injury took its toll. After a stellar SB winning rookie season, he had 24 receptions for 288 receiving yards in 4 games. However, the team is also waiting for the NFL verdict on a vehicular accident that Rice was involved in.

He was behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Urus on the streets when he hit a wall. The other car, a Corvette, was also involved in the chain reaction collision. First, the team is waiting for him to get back on the gridiron. The league is also waiting for the legal process to wind up before they work on their part. That’s why Patrick Mahomes wants to ensure his locker room is filled with enough stars to step in when needed.

That has led HC Andy Reid to go on a search mission. However, with a shoestring budget, there are very few options at his disposal.

They had Kingsley Suamataia in the LT position. Patrick Mahomes hoped the front office would get Ronnie Stanley from the Ravens. But the AFC North team foiled those plans by locking him down to a 3-year $60 million deal. The 3rd player they considered is the Steelers OT, Dan Moore.

They would be concerned that Moore allowed 10 sacks in the last 10 games of the 2024 season. But he can thrive in the Chiefs game setup. Moreover, the Steelers are also trying to free up space with Moore’s $4.8 million rookie contract ending. The Chiefs’ head coach has thrived on developing young players all his life. So, they can benefit immensely from the trade.
