“Walk by faith, not by sight.” This tattoo of Rashee Rice explains his beliefs. The receiver is dealing with a knee injury he sustained in the week 4 game against the LA Chargers. It put him out of the season. The QB Patrick Mahomes, HC Andy Reid, and others missed him dearly in the season as they lost the Super Bowl 59 to the Eagles in New Orleans. Fast forward to 2025 free agency, they are eagerly waiting for his return. Fans believe that he is the missing piece that can elevate the Chiefs to another trophy.
On March 12, the first day of free agency, he posted an Instagram story that shared the same sentiment. The story had him with Patrick Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce during a practice session. The message is obvious. He wants to go all in for the Super Bowl. It could potentially be Kelce’s last NFL season. Rumors were flying that the tight end would retire, but he has come back to give the Chiefs perhaps one final push.
NEW: #Chiefs star wide receiver Rashee Rice posted a photo of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and himself on IG.

For the WR’s fans, this is a positive update. They want him back on the field as soon as he can. Even Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid are eager to have him back. The second-round pick (55th overall) in the 2023 draft had an impressive rookie season. Playing in 16 games (8 starters), he had 79 receptions with 938 yards and 7 touchdowns. The coaches were so smitten by his talent that they started him in all 4 playoff games in 2023. End result? They won Super Bowl LVIII against the 49ers.
If he comes back in time, their 2025 season will get a major push. While Mahomes is already on his Revenge tour, Kelce also wants to retire on a high. Fans were heartbroken by the visuals of both legendary players virtually in tears on the sidelines as the Eagles decimated them in Super Bowl LIX. Along with the IG story, Rashee Rice also posted some visuals from his training sessions, running some short, quick runs during his rehab.
While Mahomes was unaware that he caused the injury to his receiver, there was someone else in the frame. It was the Chargers cornerback, Kristian Fulton.

Andy Reid snatches CB from divisional rivals
After playing four seasons with Tennessee Titans, Fulton came to the Chargers in 2024. In 15 games (14 as a starter), he had one interception, 7 defended passes, and 51 tackles (39 solo). But when Andy Reid saw his talent when he blocked that Patrick Mahomes pass in the week 4 game, he was impressed!
What’s your perspective on:
Can Rashee Rice's return be the game-changer the Chiefs need to reclaim their Super Bowl glory?
Have an interesting take?
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, “Former Chargers CB Kristian Fulton has agreed to terms with the Kansas City Chiefs on a 2-year $20 million contract, including $15 million fully guaranteed. Deal negotiated by Todd France of Athletes First.” That is a solid boost.
Dealing with the situation like an immaculate professional, the Chiefs HC Andy Reid didn’t care about the fact that Fulton blocked his QB’s pass that ended with a season-ending injury to Rashee Rice. It was a legal play by all means. Now that he is in the Chiefs Kingdom, they will want to put the incident behind them.
