Slowly but surely, the Kansas City Chiefs are making their way through the season and going into the playoffs. It’s that time of the year when the NFL appreciates the best of the best in the league and safe to say Patrick Mahomes has made it to the list. However, he is not at a place where most people would want to see him.

A post from SteelerNation on X shared the leaderboard for Walter Payton Man of the Year and each team is doing their best to gather as many votes as possible for their respective players. So far, the Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs, the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, and the Pittsburgh Steelers made the cut.

The WPMOY leaderboard’s top 5 picks might not sit well with Mahomes’ fans. In the first place, we have Ted Karras, the Center for the Cincinnati Bengals. Following him, Philadelphia Eagles’ OT Lane Johnson is the second favorite. On the third spot, we have the Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes. The Minnesota Vikings’ OT Harrison Phillips also made the cut as he got placed in the 4 position with Steelers’ OT Cameron Heyward following in the last position.

This is a charity challenge, and the winner of this competition will get to donate the money to a designated charity of their choice. The donation prize for the first place will be $35,000 to the winner’s charity of choice. The prize for the second place will be $10,000, donated to the player’s charity of choice. The third position will be awarded $5,000 to the preferred charity.

It takes more than being just an exceptional football player to be eligible to win this award. One of the main reasons why Prescott was chosen for this award was because of his excellence on the field. Prescott has gone through many injuries and bounced back time and again just to put up an exceptional performance. In week 8 of the 2022 season, Prescott completed his 46 game with a 100.0 passer rating.

Prescott is also involved with community services as he works with Faith Fight Finish (FFF) which focuses on colon cancer research, mental health, and suicide prevention. The QB seems to be heavily interested in matters of mental health and has also contributed more than $40,000 to childhood cancer research.
