“It’s like the ‘Red Wedding’ of their season—no one wants to relieve it.” A somewhat similar case happened with the Red Team on Sunday, February 9 – on a lighter note, though. But, nothing was left to make it memorable in that Super Bowl loss for Patrick Mahomes and the team. The Kansas City Chiefs got crushed in every quarter by the reigning champs, the Philadelphia Eagles. But wait! Probably, there’s something that might fans remember after Mahomes’s statically poor game. Oh, and it was poor!
Patrick Mahomes was sacked six times in New Orleans. His final score? Well, it summed up in just 21-of-32 passing for 257 yards with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Moreover, his first half’s 34 passing yards from 14 attempts marked his career low. That’s why he was left with tears and a sulky face, concluding, “I Let Y’all Down.” Nevertheless, the quarterback is at least trying to do something good this offseason – donating his kicks!
On Tuesday, Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl shared a post on its official Instagram account. In this new update, the college football players who wore HBCU jerseys stood beside a stack of shoe boxes. And the caption? Well, it acknowledged the donator–Patrick Mahomes!

Yes! The Chiefs’s QB, in partnership with Adidas, donated 26 shoes to the HBCU Legacy Bowl players. Before moving ahead, let us remind you that Mahomes and his foundation financially supported the HBCU Legacy Bowl since 2022. Hence, this time, he and his brand gave away 26 kicks to the players. These sneakers are from the “Throw A Good Time” colorway, which Patrick Mahomes wore on his Super Bowl LIX day. Hence, to thank him and his “15 And Mahomies” Foundation, the team wrote, “Thanks to @patrickmahomes & @15andmahomies for their support. Be sure to catch the @hbculegacybowl this Saturday at 3p CT on @nflnetwork! (football emoji).” Not only that!
All the four players in the post, posed with their hands forming a “1” and “5” gesture. It’s clear that they were paying tribute to Patrick Mahomes with this special pose. In addition, fans could also see a pair of purple sneakers resting on top of the shoe stack. And the specialty? This new Super Bowl shoe brings the spirit of the Mardi Gras theme with golden specks. The rich purple suede upper sets the tone, while golden specks on the sole add that carnival sparkle. In addition, they printed Mahomes’s logo on the tongue and heel of the shoes, making it clear whose game this shoe represents.
Currently, as per reports, this colorway is available for $150. This means Patrick Mahomes gave away about $3900 worth of shoes to the HBCU Legacy Bowl players. Hats off! Finally, there is something that his fans could recall, amidst the difficult week since SB. But wait! There is something else too which Mahomes makes him stand out in the tough phase.
For the first time after the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes is back on cameras!
Patrick Mahomes and his entire family bid teary-eyed goodbye to the QB’s grandfather, Randy Martin. Since September last year, Mahomes’s mom, Randi Mahomes, has been requesting her fans to pray for her father. But unfortunately, five days after the Super Bowl, he passed away at the age of 78. Hence, to attend his funeral on Monday, the family made a trip to Henderson, Texas.

Fans saw Patrick Mahomes, alongside his younger brother Jackson, wearing a black polo shirt with a red rose attached to it for the occasion. In addition, we also saw him chatting with his brother and other guests before the ceremony. However, what caught the highest attention was Mahomes’s new haircut.
Known for his naturally curly hair, Type 3, Patrick Mahomes was seen in a shorter and neatly styled haircut at the funeral. It was obviously a change from his usual look, giving his face a new look and a great lift. As a result, this fresh appearance has started making a buzz on the internet, with many liking the trim. And why shouldn’t it be?

After all, Mahomes wanted to leave the old hair, entering the season with a new one. That’s the reason Mahomes told his trainer, Bobby Stroupe, in 2023, “Hair’s gone next year. Going with different hair next year.”
Probably, the QB is heading with the same thought this time too. What do you think about his new look?
