The controversial calls continue to persist. After the non-call pass interference in the Chiefs’ final drive against the Green Bay Packers, the Kansas City Chiefs faced another issue with the refs while playing against the Buffalo Bills. However, this call infuriated the Chiefs QB, Patrick Mahomes.

In Sunday’s game, the Chiefs lost to the Bills 17-20 at their home ground. The Bills came as strong opponents from the start, however, Patrick Mahomes and his army tried to uplift the score multiple times. But it seems the luck wasn’t on their side, especially during the lateral pass by Travis Kelce, wherein the touchdown by Kadarius Toney was nullified, infuriating Mahomes.

Patrick Mahomes is usually calm and composed during the games. However, this time, a little something on the field made him lose his cool. With just over a minute left in the Bills’ game, Mahomes threw a long pass to Travis Kelce, who, after finding himself surrounded by three Bills’ defenders, threw a lateral pass to Kadarius Toney.

Kadarius Toney ran into the endzone untouched scoring an unbelievable TD. However, this 49-yard touchdown play didn’t sit well with the refs, who nullified it after observing Toney’s offside position. This decision frustrated Patrick Mahomes, as the Chiefs were winning, but the penalty erased their lead, and Kansas City Chiefs ended up losing 20-17 at their home ground.

The refs’ decision fumed Patrick Mahomes, as he was seen slamming his helmet on the ground and screaming at referees for their call. It was quite unusual for the Chiefdom to see Mahomes in such a state, and social media was flooded with both support and hatred for the QB. However, it’s important to note that the referees’ call in the previous game against the Packers also led the Red Army to lose a potentially winning game.

In the December 3 game, there were some instances where the referees made some decisions that weren’t in the favor of the Chiefs. First, there was a situation where the Packers’ cornerback, Carrington Valentine, seemed to interfere with the Chiefs WR, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, near the end zone, but the refs didn’t throw a penalty flag, saying they didn’t see enough restriction on the receiver.

Later in the game, Packers safety Jonathan Ownes was penalized for unnecessary roughness when he hit Patrick Mahomes. However, some controversy arose because Mahomes was still in bounds when the hit occurred. Despite this, a penalty was called. Then, in the final moments of the game, on a crucial play, Mahomes threw the ball into the end zone amidst a crowded group of players, particularly Travis Kelce.

While it’s uncommon for pass interference to be called on a final Hail Mary pass, some argue that it could have been justified this time because Travis Kelce was pushed in the back as players fought for position. This game was also lost by the Chiefs by a score of 27-19. As per the NFL standings, the Chiefs have 8 wins and 5 losses.
