Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been the center of attention since they began dating last year. Swift fueled the rumors by frequently attending Kansas City Chiefs’ games. She celebrated with Kelce during the AFC Championship win against the Baltimore Ravens and the Super Bowl LVIII victory against the San Francisco 49ers. The story of how they got together is quite charming. 

But there’s more to this story. Patrick Mahomes, the star QB of the Chiefs, recently claimed some credit for bringing the couple together. During an appearance on Pat McAfee’s show, Mahomes shared how he played a part in their love story.

“We enjoy it. It’s been a fun run,“ Mahomes said. “I like to take some of the credit. I was the one who invited Travis to the first Taylor concert when the friendship bracelet was. It was. He was sitting in my suite, so I feel like I was the matchmaker. I had some input in there as well. I was like, dude, just go for it. Just go for it. And you know, Travis, man, he does it, and he’s a great dude. And I’m glad that it’s all worked out for the best,” said the QB. 

Mahomes’ comments have surely added another playful twist to the Kelce-Swift love story. Previously Patrick also talked about their relationship at the Super Bowl LVIII Opening Night event at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The 28-year-old stated, “We’ve had a couple dinners. It’s been awesome to see their relationship grow. Taylor is a great person.”
