Did the Chiefs' O-line just steal Travis Kelce's spotlight, or was it all in good fun?

Kansas City Chiefs’ last game was an emotional rollercoaster, no matter who you supported. While the Super Bowl LVIII champs took the victory home, it didn’t come easy. So, they made sure to celebrate their moments on the field after an unexpected touchdown. One of the TDs came at the hands of an offensive tackle. A big man touchdown!

If you weren’t present to watch the amazing game, all the preliminary information you need to know is that Wanya Morris was able to penetrate Cincinnati’s defenses when the team was close to the endzone and scored for his team. It was one of Andy Reid’s specials. When Leo Chenal joined the O-line for the play, everyone thought the Chiefs would run it. Well, the idea was to create confusion. When Mahomes saw Morris open, his eyes lit up and he threw an easy TD pass. Following that, Morris’ celebration is what everyone talked about it.

Travis Kelce recently sat down and discussed the last Chiefs game on the podcast with his brother Jason. During this episode of New Heights, the two continued about how the ‘big fella’ crossed the line of scrimmage and made it to the end zone unexpectedly.

While we usually see the star Tight End do this job, Morris didn’t hesitate twice before stealing his thunder. He also hit a hilarious ’emote’ after scoring. However, the OT had to end it early after only a few moves. He tweeted that it was because of Patrick Mahomes. “Pat said get out quick,” wrote the OT with a bunch of laughing emojis that show how much he enjoys recalling that moment.

Morris completely stole Travis Kelce’s moment for the time being. Who would have expected the big guy to penetrate the defense so swiftly and score a touchdown? Well, the victory dance was something that was worth the trouble until that moment and Kelce also seemed to have grown fond of it.

If you can’t find anything to appreciate about a particular NFL game, just pay attention to the athletes’ cheeky way of celebrating small achievements on the field and it will lighten up your day by a sliver. Wanya Morris was undoubtedly creative with his victory dance.

Looking at it live, one may think that he probably rehearsed it the entire week before hitting it off and stealing the big moment from the superstar tight end. Travis Kelce, however, is not a jealous individual. He knows there is a bigger plan waiting for him. But what matters the most at the moment, is joining the tackle’s celebration.

Kelce seemed genuinely happy that the “big fella” got in for the touchdown. After this comment, he conversed with his brother, “[Did] you see his dance? He had a great celebration man. I don’t know what he calls that but he was gettin’ it.” The dance move, let’s call it a ‘Morris roll’ for now, doesn’t really have an official name. But whatever it was, Travis clearly enjoyed looking at it. The only thing he sees in that moment is a happy teammate whose game he respects.

Morris might get the chance to complete his dance the next time he gets a touchdown opportunity during their Week 3 game.
