After suffering from a fractured back earlier this year, Brittany Mahomes nearly hurt her ankle as an unexpected guest showed up. Brittany, who often keeps her followers updated about her life, shared a story on Instagram that chronicled the visit of a mother duck.

Taking to her official Instagram account, Brittany Mahomes observed that a duck was supposedly laying eggs in her house’s backyard area, which delighted the mother of two as she said, “I love that she feels safe at our house.” Later in the day, she decided to check in on the duck again to see if she had indeed laid eggs, but this time called on her husband to accompany her while recording the moment on Instagram.

As the couple went in search of the bird, Brittany remarked, “The duck is gone. We’re going to check. I’m not about to get attacked by no duck. And he has my back…Be on guard.” Patrick, who seemed to have spotted the duck told his wife that “it was right there!” causing Brittany to trip and nearly roll her ankle.

Describing the experience, Brittany wrote, “Almost broke my ankle…” in the caption of the Instagram story with a laughing emoji and tagging her husband. Soon after she spotted the duck again and said, “Well, it’s still here. I just wanted to see if there were eggs.” Thankfully, Brittany’s little adventure ended up without her getting hurt, having already suffered from a fractured back this year.

In March this year, the Mahomes family took a vacation in Mexico. It was there that she revealed on her Instagram that she has been dealing with a fractured back. She posted, “Just your daily reminder. Once you have kids please take care of your pelvic floor. Seriously. From: a girl with a fractured back.” This indicates that she didn’t take care of her body following two pregnancies.

However, in a more positive update she told E! News recently that she was doing great and that her back was “no longer broken.” Coming back to Brittany’s duck adventure, earlier she could not resist sharing her a snap with her 1.9M followers with the duck in the frame and added the caption, “My heart,” using a teary-eyed emoji.
