Patrick Mahomes' vulnerability: Does this make you respect him more as a player and a person?

For the first time, in this 2024 season, the Kansas City Chiefs are traveling to Atlanta for a matchup. Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs will be facing off against Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3. As the journey for Mahomes and his team will be hectic and away from their family, the Red Army’s quarterback has already decided how to be emotionally available for his pregnant wife, Brittany Mahomes, and two kids – Sterling and Bronze.

Hence, while appearing in an interview with People Magazine, tied to a new campaign with T-Mobile, Patrick Mahomes confessed that “he relies on FaceTime when the team travels, so that he doesn’t miss out on any family moments” with Brittany and children. So, that means, this time again, when the Chiefs will be away for the Falcons’ matchup, Patrick would be video calling his family to support them, and get best wishes ahead of the game.

Besides this, not only Mahomes made this vulnerable confession, he also explained the reason behind it. The reigning Super Bowl champ expressed, “It makes the distance feel a little smaller when I’m on the road.” Aww! That’s a perfect way to handle sports and family simultaneously. Now, with this revelation, it’s clearly depicted that Mahomes is a family-man. And no matter where he is at present, he will never fail to give his time to his family.

This is also evident from Randi Mahomes’ earlier statements when the 53-year-old said that she has passed on family values to her son. That’s why Patrick Mahomes once said, when asked about retirement, that he would continue playing sports as long as it doesn’t affect his family.

Now, before any retirement plans, Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are aiming for the NFL’s first three-peat. They have already registered two consecutive wins and now are heading into their third game. The Chiefs vs. Falcons game is set to kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 22, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The game will air on NBC, and fans can also live stream it on Peacock and NBC.com.

Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs vs Kirk Cousins’ Falcons: Who will win?

Get ready for the Prime Time game! There is no doubt that the Falcons are aiming to make their statement on national television by defeating the Chiefs. But as the road will be rocky, will they be able to succeed over the reigning Super Bowl champions?

The Chiefs are as usual always ready for the battle as they will be heading towards their first on-road game this season. But are the Falcons prepared? According to the team’s coach, Raheem Morris, KC is a strong team. He said, “You’re talking about a bunch of elite guys and players that play at a very high level, at every level they’ve been at.” However, he didn’t lose a chance to subtly mock Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce with his next statement.

Morris called the Chiefs’ duo “aliens,” saying, “Then, there’s those guys that get that alien-type status,” as they demand special attention. In addition to him, Falcons QB Kirk Cousins too admitted that this game will be challenging for them as well be a good opportunity too.

Nevertheless, it seems both the teams are prepared for their upcoming Week 3 battle, as they both are fresh off one-point victories in Week 2. And if you see the latest predictions, made by ESPN and NFL analysts, the Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs are favored by 3.5 points.
