What Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are going to attempt on February 9 hasn’t been achieved by any NFL team in history. The three-peat is just around the corner and the whole Chiefs nation is excited about it. However, Mahomes’ off-court life just equally became interesting as his lesser-know brother—the one “who chooses to stay away from the spotlight”—just achieved a fit that’s going to give him ample limelight.
Yes, we’re talking about the Chiefs’ QB’s half-brother Graham Walker. On January 28, Equity Sports shared the exciting update on Instagram. Captioned, “Generational Recess Athlete, now taking over the gridiron. @_itsinstagraham is a tight end you can’t ignore. 🏆 2023 Frederick “Fritz” Pollard ‘19 Award📖 All-Ivy (Phil Steele) Third Team (2023), Fourth Team (2022) Welcome to our 2025 NFL Draft Class!”, the post featured him in a compilation video from his top-notch plays.
The update-post also didn’t forget to tell fans and NFL franchises that Patrick Mahomes’ half-brother has been awarded the annual Frederick Fritz Pollard Award of 2023. Graham Walker was also named on the third team and fourth team in the All-Ivy Phil Steele Awards.

For the unversed: Graham Walker was born to Pat Mahomes Sr, and was raised by his biological mother Jessamyn Walker and stepfather Gerry Howatt. And if you wanna question whether Walker inherits the Mahomes football genes, his biological dad rightly answered the question: “He definitely is a Mahomes. His stepdad did a great job with him, his mom did a great job with him.”
“He’s supportive, as he always is. Hopefully in this offseason Patrick will get a chance to throw the ball to him, run routes, as Patrick always has his receivers come down,” Mahomes Sr further said.
Having said that, Graham studied at Avon Old Farms High School, Connecticut, and played college football for Rice University. He also has two siblings, Mireille and Kayla. And to talk about Graham Walker’s football career: He played for the Brown Bears for three seasons (2021-2023). In his tenure with the Bears, he concluded with 127 catches, 1,496 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns.
Cut to the 2024 season, and Walker entered the transfer portal, ultimately joining the Rice Owls. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound player talked about his sudden decision in a conversation in February last year. “Seeing the track record of guys going to the NFL and the guys that the coaching staff has developed just provides more and more reason to join such a great program.” Notably, Walker replaced Luke McCaffrey, who was selected 100th overall by the Washington Commanders in the 2024 NFL Draft.
