Patrick Mahomes is giving back the love to his people! The Kansas City Chiefs rose to another Super Bowl fame on February 11, and as part of their conventional celebration, the team joined with about 1 million fans for the victory parade at their hometown. But the joyous day, marked by a horrendous act, will never be the same as other celebratory Super Bowl parades.
As per many outlets, 21 people were injured and one succumbed to death after the Union Station witnessed a mass shooting on February 14 afternoon. Many celebrities and Chiefs’ staff joined in praying for the victims & their families and also condemned the terrifying incident. Now, a couple of days after the occurrence, the Mahomes family and the Chiefs are collaborating to support KC during the hard times.
Patrick Mahomes lends support in raising emergency funds

In response to the tragic shooting incident in Kansas City, the Mahomes family, including Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes, took swift action to support the victims and those affected. According to the reports, they donated about $50,000 to the Chiefs’ fundraiser, which was initiated by the Super Bowl champions in collaboration with United Way.
Patrick Mahomes also called out his fans to support the noble cause. He tweeted on his official X account: “Just like #ChiefsKingdom has always been there for me and my family, we want to be there for them.” He went on to mention how the team has launched the KCStrong fund to support the families of the victims of the situation. And now he, his wife, Brittany, and his organization, 15, and the Mahomies, will all be contributing to the same.
Mahomes also shared the link to his fundraising website in his tweet. The campaign started with a substantial $200,000 contribution, and the Mahomes family promptly joined the cause. Mahomes’ involvement is evident through his name and the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation appearing among the top donors for the fundraiser.

Furthermore, the NFL and the Chiefs have launched a shirt sale to aid the fundraising which is available “on Fanatics or on Tuesday at the Chiefs Pro Shop.” Additionally, they informed publically that they would not be earning any profits from the sale of this product. Till now, around $501,615.67 has been raised by the initiative.
Besides Mahomes, the Chiefs’ star tight end, Travis Kelce, who promised to be with his people, also donated hugely to the victims through his children-centric organization.

Shortly after the horrifying incident, Travis Kelce informed that he was “heartbroken,” and promised to be with his people during the tough times. Now, according to the reports, the 34-year-old donated “$100,000 to 2 children hurt in the Union Station shooting.” According to KMBC, “two generous donations of $50,000 each were made to the Reyes Family’s GoFundMe account.”
The GoFundMe page provides information that the family’s two daughters were injured in the gunfire, and the funds will play a crucial role in their physical and mental recovery, and also create financial resources for their future, including potential college funds. The donations were made by Kelce’s foundation – Eighty-Seven Running.

Additionally, the athlete’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, extended her condolences and contributed the same amount to the family of the victim (Elizabeth “Lisa” Lopez-Galvan), who died in the incident that took place in KC. A heartfelt note also accompanied the donations, saying: “Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift.”
