With the emphatic win against the Baltimore Ravens in the conference championship. The Kansas City Chiefs have booked another date with the Super Bowl. Threatening to become a dynasty in their own right, the Chiefs are in ascendance. But who’s doing that? Andy Reid or Patrick Mahomes?

Mahomes was exceptional against the Ravens, as he has been throughout the postseason. However, even when he wasn’t up to the mark, head coach Andy Reid kept him safe and the Chiefs on track. And with his 7th trip to the Super Bowls in his coaching career, it is tough to deny his genius.

After this emphatic victory by the Chiefs in their sixth consecutive AFC championship. The talks of GOAT have begun once again, but the former coach of Independence Community College, Jason Brown, threw a twist on this old tale.

“Without Andy Reid, I believe that Patrick Mahomes is just another guy”, said Brown to Jason Whitlock on his podcast. There is no doubt that Reid is a master of game plans, but Mahomes is the one executing them on the field.

Both Brown and Whitlock agreed that neither Mahomes nor Reid could be considered GOATs just yet. But with another Super Bowl lined up, the QB and the head coach can both make their cases stronger against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas.

Reid has been with the Chiefs since 2013 and in that time frame has brought immense success to the franchise. But that success has coincided with the emergence and ascendance of Patrick Mahomes. And just like Bill Belichick and Tom Brady before them, their success will be counted together.

And the duo have a chance to stamp their reigns further as they fight for yet another Super Bowl. They will be facing the 49ers, the same team they defeated four years ago to win the first Super Bowl for the Chiefs after 50 years!
