Over the years, Aaron Rodgers has been hailed as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. With his consistent performances and even four MVP titles, the athlete has built a reputation for being one of the most accurate passers in NFL history. However, in recent years, the 40-year-old has not been able to live up to his previous successes. Now, with the GOAT debate popping up ever so often, an ESPN analyst has shut down the star’s path to being one of the greats.

In a recent episode of ESPN’s First Take, Stephen A Smith was asked whether Rodgers needs to win another Super Bowl to be considered a GOAT. Without skipping a beat, the 56-year-old responded with, “I don’t even think that puts him in the GOAT conversation.” The analyst elaborated on what he meant by adding, “Tom Brady’s got seven, Patrick Mahomes has three.”

Smith continued that Rodgers had not been to a Super Bowl since 2010 with the Green Bay Packers and that another win would not change much. In fact, the radio personality even stated that the 40-year-old had been “the greatest talent” in the quarterback position. However, he believed that changed once Mahomes joined the Chiefs and showed the world his skills.

While Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs might have stolen the hearts of fans all over the world in the last year, this might end up being the year Rodgers makes his Super Bowl comeback after 14 years. Even the 40-year-old seems to have faith in himself and the New York Jets.

2024 could just be Aaron Rodgers’ year. Although he and the Jets wound up being eliminated from the playoff race in the AFC, it looks like the 40-year-old is gearing up for a new Super Bowl season with excitement. In a recent episode of Mad Dog Sports, the athlete revealed that he was his own secret weapon and as long as he was on the field, New York had a chance of taking home the trophy.

“I feel like if I’m on the field and doing what I’m capable of doing, No 1, we’ve always got a chance,” stated Rodgers. Although the 40-year-old seems to have some rather high hopes for the year, there is no way of saying how things will end up playing out. After all, just last year, the quarterback tore his left Achilles tendon just four plays into the first game of 2023.

With Rodgers still on the road to recovery, the athlete might have to take things a little slower than usual this time around. Although the quarterback has claimed to be doing really well, there have been rumors that his injury was tested just hours ago at the Jets offseason training program.

The 40-year-old wound up giving everyone a jump scare. However, it ended up being about some blisters on his foot instead. While Rodgers might be eyeing his first Super Bowl win since 2010, it might not play out exactly how the 40-year-old is hoping for.
