It was January 24. Patrick Mahomes‘ grandfather was under hospice care because of his deteriorating health, but he really wished to see his grandson play at the Super Bowl. “I know that it has meant a lot to him,” Randi Mahomes told People. “And I think he’s hanging on because he wants to see his grandson do an amazing thing or just let him play.” Pat may have not won the big game but he completed his grandfather’s wish, who passed away on February 12—just days after the game.

Larry ‘Randy’ Martin’s death was particularly tough on his daughter, Randi. In a post dedicated to her father, she wrote: “Hard to find the words of holding my fathers hand as he goes to Heaven. I know he’s in a better place. I love you daddy. Well done, good and faithful servant! Matthew 25:23.” Her father had dedicated his life to teaching and counseling at schools. With his work at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Gatesville Boys School, he touched the lives of many young lads who abused substances.

Since his death, Randi has been trying to pick up the pieces of her broken heart for the sake of her family.

For instance, her granddaughter, Sterling Skye’s fourth birthday, was on Feb. 22. While the Mahomes celebrated this milestone, Randi too joined them despite experiencing the tough loss of a parent. And now, in a new update, she tried cheering up herself with some Monday Motivation.

On her Instagram stories, she shared a post that read: “Tomorrow is Monday, and we will have a great week, filled with good vibes, many blessings, and tons of positivity.”

Sharing this message, Randi also wrote a two-word message: “Let’s go.” A couple of hours later, she posted another story which read: “Situations will teach you the real meaning of life.”

It is almost like a repeat of what took place when Randi’s mother passed away. Debbie Bates Martin died on April 5, 2023. That was two months after the Chiefs had defeated the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. Randi’s post back then mentioned: “Missing my mom so much it hurts and trying not to cry again in front of my daughter is impossible.”

And ahead of last year’s Super Bowl, she wrote: “Momma i know you are cheering today from Heaven. I miss you every single day.. i can hear you yelling ‘Go Patrick.’”

Her parents were married for 53 years. But coming back to the present, Randi’s motivational post is perhaps something Tom Brady can relate to.

Randi Mahomes and Tom Brady: Thoughts connected through motivational posts

While Randi Mahomes’ post stood out for its emotional weight and its simplicity, Tom Brady was serving a different kind of Monday energy over at FOX. The NFL legend turned broadcaster came up with his own “Happy Monday” post, with positive vibes as he also shared a picture of the blue ocean from a yacht on his Instagram stories. Great way to shake off the Monday blues, but he wasn’t alone in this.

He had Gracie Hunt, daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, who joined the “Happy Monday” train in her gym attire. Known for her Chiefs’ spirit and social media flair, Gracie’s story was all about gym motivation and Chiefs pride. Her upbeat energy was a different vibe from Randi’s reflective tone and Brady’s laid-back approach.

Meanwhile, Michael Strahan kick-started his week with some serious ‘Monday Motivation’ on Instagram. He shared a post on his stories, which read: “Success is not for the chosen few; it’s for the few who choose.” Indeed, this took us back to the classic Strahan confidence we once saw him on the field with. And a sharp tie, of course. He is telling us to stop waiting for the stars to align and start making moves. It’s like he’s saying, ‘Get off the sidelines and get in the game!’

But coming back to Randi, in a world of endless scrolling and superficial posts, her heartfelt message cut through with raw authenticity. What do you think?
