Yes! The three-time Super Bowl champ, who earlier was into baseball too, attended the New York Yankees vs Kansas City Royals game 3 at Kauffman Stadium in his Bye Week. In addition to that, his wife, Brittany Mahomes, too, accompanied her husband as the spectator in the game. However, what caught fans’ attention lately was the playful fight between Mahomes and his former teammate (from 2017-21).

In a shared viral video by social media user BBQ Dom on X, Patrick Mahomes could be seen jumping up in excitement and running towards Gehrig Dieter for a playful fight. In the video, the QB, who is donning the Royals’ jersey, could also be seen heckling and chest bumping with Dieter, challenging and encouraging him to do a playful battle with the quarterback. On the other hand, Dieter, who was donning Yankees’ jersey, first laughed off on him, and then he too started showing himself ready for a casual fight with Mahomes. Hilarious!

This moment happened when Patrick Mahomes’ favorite Royals tied the game with the Yankees in the bottom of the fifth inning at 2-2. Mahomes, who is also a 1% stake owner of the team, went ballistic in his VIP suite and ran towards Dieter to yell at his face and challenge him for a playful fight. However, in reality they didn’t go hand-to-hand. But this short moment definitely brought a smile to the fans’ faces.

Nevertheless, Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes, who too accompanied him at the game, probably seemed unbothered with this. As in the recent shared Instagram story, the pregnant momma could be seen enjoying her delicious dessert in the game. Moreover, she also posted a selfie with her bestie, Miranda Hogue, which was originally shared by Hogue, with “back with the bestie (blue heart emoji)” caption.

They all were in support of the Royals, but this time they had to walk off with a loss of their favorite team, as the Yankees won 3-2 against KC in Wednesday’s game. Definitely not the thing which Patrick Mahomes expected!

Patrick Mahomes could have been a professional baseball star?

Baseball runs deep in Patrick Mahomes’ blood. His father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., spent 11 years as a pitcher in MLB (from 1992-2003), moving between six teams. While growing up, Patrick Mahomes too was right there in the middle of it, playing baseball himself. He was so good at it, that he even got drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 2014. But as per his mom Randi Mahomes, his heart was set on football.

And we all know how that turned out! But baseball never really left his life. In 2020, at just 24, Mahomes made a huge move, becoming the youngest part-owner of the Kansas City Royals. While expressing his happiness after becoming a part of the stakeholder of the baseball team, Mahomes said at that time: “I love this city and the people of this great town. This opportunity allows me to deepen my roots in this community, which is something I’m excited to do.”

So, in this way, Patrick Mahomes’ love for the game came full circle!
