On March 23, 2025, Tyreek Hill celebrated his anniversary. With this, we are not talking about his marriage anniversary with wife Keeta Vaccaro, which falls in November 2023. Instead, the date marks his third anniversary of the blockbuster trade that sent him from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins back in 2022.

Although Tyreek Hill left Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs behind, the WR still craves the companionship that he received in the franchise. That’s the reason he kept on talking about the Chiefs in the offseason as well as during the game days. However, it’s not just Cheetah who misses his old team, people, and those memories. There’s someone else who’s recalling Hill’s personality at the former team.

Miami’s news channel, FinsXtra, shared a video of Willie Gay Jr. on X. In the clip, the Dolphins’ linebacker recalled “on his time with Tyreek Hill on the Kansas City Chiefs.” He said, “It’s hard to find somebody that fast in this lifetime, but yeah, it’s next level. He’s a good guy, he was cool down there type guy. I mean, even my rookie here when I first came in, I didn’t know anyone,” in the Chiefs community.

But Tyreek Hill’s kind gesture soon got noticed by Gay Jr. Talking about the treatment he got from Hill, the LB expressed, “They barely knew me, but he never treated anyone different. Just a good all-around guy, man. I mean, obviously, you see what he can do on the field. So, I was seeing it as a 22-year-old rookie; it’s amazing. So I’m glad to be back on the same squad as him.

27-year-old Gay Jr. signed with the Dolphins this week as an unrestricted free agent. He joined Patrick Mahomes and the team in 2020 and remained with them till 2023. During these two years, he worked with Tyreek Hill. After his exit, the two-time Super Bowl champ has now joined the WR once again in Miami. But will this reunite continue to be long-term? People sensed doubts!

Can the Dolphins release Tyreek Hill?

A fan page tagged Tyreek Hill, marking his third anniversary of trade. The WR thanked Miami for their support. He took to his X account, and wrote, “Changed my life thank you.” Indeed, the five-time All-Pro wide receiver didn’t want to leave Patrick Mahomes’s Chiefs. But he is as happy as ever in South Beach. However, things took an ugly turn when the receiver expressed his frustration after the final regular game of the season.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Tyreek Hill's time in Miami coming to an end, or will he stay loyal to the Dolphins?

Have an interesting take?

When it was clear that Miami wasn’t going to the playoffs, Tyreek Hill dropped a bombshell in the press conference. He said, “For me, I have to do what’s best for me and my family, if that’s here or wherever the case may be. I’m (going to) open that door for myself….I’m out, bro. It was great playing here, but at the end of the day, I’ve got to do what’s best for my career. … I’m too much of a competitor to be just out there.” That created ripples.

However, later, he took back his comments by saying, “I could have handled the situation better,” expressing his wish to remain with the franchise. But it seems the Dolphins might not be in the mood for swings anymore.

According to Ian Valentino of The 33rd Team, the Dallas Cowboys might look for Tyreek Hill this offseason. Jerry Jones’s franchise already has CeeDee Lamb on the roster. But they don’t have a consistent no. 2 receiver on the team. Hence, Valentino urged, “After a decade of avoiding free agency splurges, Jerry Jones can drop a hammer by making such a gutsy investment into Hill. It shouldn’t cost him a first-round pick, either, meaning he can add a star tailback and Hill. Dallas would surely need to extend Hill’s contract to ease his future cap hits, but the Cowboys finally have the cap flexibility to not stress it.” Well, no doubt, such a move will be a spotlight for the Cowboys.

It also might perhaps bring them back again in the contender round. After all, Tyreek Hill, with 95 career touchdowns, is known for his fast runs to the endzone!
