Patrick Mahomes thinks Lamar Jackson will win! No, not the Super Bowl. He hasn’t given up on that yet. The 2x SB champ was speaking about the NFL MVP. The Chiefs are going to take on the Ravens this Sunday. And it could be anyone’s game. Your guess is as good as ours. But when it comes to the MVP conversation, Mahomes is nowhere in the picture. He deserves, at best, an honorary mention.

No, we’re not belittling Patrick. He himself said so. The AFC Title Game presser has just concluded. The reporters have asked their questions. And of course, the Chiefs QB’s thoughts on his counterpart was the “chief” among them.

If you thought he’d have harsh words for Lamar, you’d be mistaken. Mahomes had nothing but the best things to say about Lamar. And speaking so highly of your opponent just goes to show how good Jackson is. They got the MVP on offense.” Then the question shifted to Mahomes and his MVP run.

Again, he showed no hesitation in what was clear to everyone. Patrick simply wasn’t in the conversation this season. There are three things that determine who will become the MVP: personal stats, role as leader and number of games won.

Jackson is 11th and 15th when it comes to passing touchdowns and passing yards. What about Mahomes? He trumps Lamar with 8th and 6th rankings. But then consider rushing TDs and yards, and the picture changes. Dramatically. While the Ravens QB is 1st and 4th, number fifteen is 6th and 37th!
