Did Mahomes Sr.'s arrest fuel the Chiefs' Super Bowl win, or was it just a coincidence?

Week 7 is here. It’s a rematch for last year’s finalists. Chiefs vs 49ers. Let’s tell you about an incident that happened before last year’s Super Bowl. The father of the MVP Patrick Mahomes played a very important role in his life. That of being his trainer and mentor during his formative years. However, Mahomes Sr. has dealt with big issues in his life. Mostly addiction-related.

In February 2024, when Pat Mahomes was arrested for DWI, he told the cops a very hilarious thing. You can call it overconfidence or a silly foretell. As per a TMZ video, he told them that if he was arrested, the Chiefs would lose the Super Bowl. “Are y’all serious? I’m supposed to be going to the Super Bowl to watch my son play football, and this is what we’re doing?” were his exact words.

Cops stopped the former MLB player after they had a doubt that the Genesis SUV he was driving didn’t have a valid registration. Hence, on February 3, when Patrick Mahomes’ father was stopped in Tyler, he was polite during questioning. He told them he had 2 beers before driving and also offered them one. A beer can was placed in a cup holder between the front seats. However, when they tested him, he had a 0.23 BAC.

Fate gave him the chance to watch his son prove his words wrong. He was released before the Super Bowl clash on February 11, when Patrick Mahomes won his 3rd Super Bowl. He must be feeling glad about the win. After all, his claims were a little too far-fetched. Pat Mahomes was later sentenced to 5 years’ probation.
