Last Sunday’s game was difficult to watch for Kansas City Chiefs fans. In the game against the Buffalo Bills, the team recorded their second back-to-back loss. What was even more devastating was that they could have clinched a victory if not for the last-minute penalty by the referees. A visibly Patrick Mahomes who was animated with rage at the call, took out his frustration on the Bills QB, Josh Allen.

So, what was all the fuss about and did the two quarterbacks sort it out with each later on?

In a media interaction, 2x Super Bowl MVP, Patrick Mahomes was asked about the animosity between him and Josh Allen. In response, he said, “I talk to Josh a lot so we’re all good. But I’ll keep those conversations to ourselves.” It all started when after the game ended, Mahomes went over to Allen. But instead of congratulating him on his team’s victory, he utters something very NSFW.

“Wildest f*****g call I’ve ever seen. Offensive offenses in that moment, man. f*****g terrible,” he told Allen. Soon after his outburst, he lamented and publicly apologized for not keeping his emotions in check and unleashing them on Josh Allen. He said that in the adrenaline-fuelled NFL games, players should not lose their calm.

In the last few minutes of the game, the Bills were leading 20-17. The ball was in the Chiefs’ possession. After the ball was snapped, it reached tight end Travis Kelce, who seeing his path blocked by Bills defenders, made a stunning lateral pass to Kadarius Toney. Toney then rushed the ball for a touchdown. That would’ve sealed the victory for the Chiefs, but alas, that was not to be.

A flag had been thrown and Toney was penalized for aligning over the ball at the line of scrimmage. Not only was the touchdown taken away from the Chiefs, they were also penalized with a loss of down, and a few yards were taken away from them. Mahomes was livid. And no Chiefs fan could digest the loss easily. They had won. Almost.
