According to the Cincinnati Bengals fans, their quarterback’s injury is the only thing stopping them from a Super Bowl. Joe Burrow‘s 2023 season was cut short when he injured his right wrist, ultimately missing out on the playoffs run for the first time since 2020.

But now it seems the quarterback is back on track to getting his throwing arm back. The former 1st pick’s recovery, combined with Zac Taylor’s impeccable coaching skills, has reignited fans’ hopes for a championship win. Fans had a field day with the latest update about Burrow’s health and couldn’t help but throw jabs at rival Patrick Mahomes.

The Bengals posted a glimpse of their 2020 draft QB training on their official X account with the caption, “HE IS SO BACK.” His throws had fans hyped up about Burrow’s return, with some even calling out the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback for a battle cry.

The Chiefs vs. Bengals rivalry has been the most exciting competition in this era of the NFL. Burrow is often pitted against Mahomes with his 3-1 record against the three-time MVP. Following the spirit, one fan wrote, “Patrick Mahomes count your days.”

Another fan expressed his hopes of the quarterback bettering his already impressive record against the Chiefs.

However, as Bengals Nation poked at Mahomes, the Chiefs’ Kingdom didn’t take the insults lying down either! Several fans responded to the Burrows vs. the Chiefs star, with one X user taking a dig at Cincinnati’s playoff loss.

Another Kansas City fan flaunted ‘Magic’ Mahomes’ two consecutive Super Bowl wins against Burrows’ dearth of championship rings.

The quarterback’s return to offseason training is a good sign and is in line with HC Taylor’s earlier update that he is “right on schedule.” In a recent report by Albert Breer, Burrow shared some first-hand details about how he’s coping with his wrist injury.

Burrow’s injury is reported to be a scapholunate ligament tear by sports physician Jesse Morse, and the 27-year-old might be the first NFL QB to have suffered from it. While other offensive and defensive linemen have experienced the ailment, the wrist motion isn’t as integral for them as it is for a thrower. The Grade 3 sprain requires a long time to heal, and fortunately, the Bengals’ signal-caller might be on the end of this long and arduous journey.

With Joe Burrow’s return expected in the upcoming season, the Bengals fans are more optimistic than ever about having a chance at the Lombardi Trophy. Their biggest threat could be the Chiefs, but with the quarterback’s record against Mahomes, the odds aren’t too bad.
