The Jacksonville Jaguars let go of Zay Jones after he signed a 3-year deal with the team. The Jags decided to release him a year before his contract ran through and saved $4.49 million against the salary cap by releasing him. After everything was said and done, Jones was shortly released after the team had signed Brian Thomas Jr. in the NFL Draft.
Now the veteran wideout is looking for a new home and in his quest to do so, has been speaking to many teams. He has already visited the Dallas Cowboys, the Titans, and the Cardinals. However, per Adam Schefter, Jones has one more team he must cross off his list.

Per Schefter’s latest Instagram post, Jones will seek council with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday. Schefter’s post on Instagram said, “Former Jaguars WR Zay Jones is scheduled to visit Thursday with the Kansas City Chiefs, per league sources,” and that “After Jacksonville released him last week, Jones has visited the Titans, Cardinals and Cowboys – with the Chiefs on deck.”

His meeting with the Chiefs makes a lot of sense because the Kansas team is in dire need of a receiver right now and everyone knows that Patrick Mahomes could really use an experienced presence around him if he wants to keep his 3-Peat dreams alive. Taking the example of players like Kadarius Toney, who played 13 games and had 169 yards and a single touchdown for the whole season, the Chiefs surely can’t rely on him for apparent reasons.
Another major wideout of the KC Chiefs has been Justin Watson, who played 16 games, had 460 yards, and had 3 touchdowns in the season is a slightly better option. However, by the time the 2023 season ended, Rashee Rice surpassed every Chiefs receiver and had more yardage than all the receivers combined.
But there are some complications with Rashee Rice and his stay in the Kansas City Chiefs might not be welcome for a long time.

The Kansas City Chiefs find solutions in the face of challenges
Some time ago, Rice piled up 8 felony charges after his accident in Dallas, Texas. Since he had been quite for a while. Till now, he might take up some serious punishment after he was accused of assaulting a photographer in a Dallas nightclub. The victim had non-life-threatening injuries but was referred to the hospital.

Rice’s attorney hasn’t made a statement yet. The Kansas City Chiefs have also refrained from making any comment about the situation. Given Rice’s situation, it was a good move by the team to sign Xavier Worthy, the fastest WR prospect in the NFL combine, to possibly replace Rashee Rice if things don’t work out between both parties.
If worse comes to worse with Rice, having an experienced receiver like Zay Jones show Xavier Worthy the ropes of the NFL seems like an exciting time to look forward to as well.
