One of the biggest debates in the NFL is who is better – Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes? While some prefer Brady as the number 1 player, others believe Mahomes has outshined the former. Apart from the stats or winning percentage, the players who have played with or against them might tell of their invincibility. This time, it’s Super Bowl 50 champion, Chris Harris Jr., who was asked the same question. Harris has played 12 seasons in the league from 2011 to 2022. He has played against Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes several times, throughout his career.

In the latest episode of Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams, Harris joined the show to talk about his retirement and his games with legendary players like Brady and Manning. During the discussion, when asked who he thinks was the bigger threat for his position on the field – Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes, Chris Harris highlighted their unique styles and impact on the game. Explaining his point, the Super Bowl Champ said that Brady, already a seasoned player when he entered the NFL, taught Harris valuable lessons on the field.

The former cornerback mentioned that Brady was strategic, using motion and formations to make it difficult for defenders to cover his receivers. Harris pointed out that Brady often hid players like Wes Welker and Danny Amendola behind others to create separation. Harris further added about Tom Brady, “He taught me the game” to find his way out through the blockers. For Mahomes, the 34-year-old said that he is known for his ability to make game-changing plays, especially in critical moments like the fourth quarter.

He continued, “With Mahomes, he has the legs effect to it, that’s different than Brady that he can add to the game. He can make all the throws he can and he can throw on the run. That’s the difference with him and Brady. Brady couldn’t really throw too much on the run but in the pocket he’s A+. But a guy like Mahomes, he can scramble, he can throw on the run and he makes those crucial plays in the fourth round and I mean the fourth quarter that just kills the defense.”

Although Harris applauded both the star quarterbacks, he still thinks Mahomes poses a bigger threat than Brady when compared on-field game play. Besides him, there are a few pointers too that indicate Kansas City Chiefs QB is one-up against the legendary quarterback.
