It took two Avengers movies to beat Thanos, and that’s what happened with the Eagles. The Chiefs were able to steal the ring from them back in ‘23. But in the second round, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say the Eagles obliterated the Chiefs. By the end of the first half, the Eagles literally had more points than the Chiefs had yards. Geez, I know, right? Patrick Mahomes and Co. had a really hard time breaking down the Eagles’ walls. It was not like Patrick didn’t try hard enough to push his team to victory. He pocketed 257 yards with 3 TDs. Come on, Patrick tried his best. But the dream of grasping the three-peat was shattered, as Nick Sirianni’s team lifted their second Lombardi.
Family is the only element that helps them get past this hard time. That’s what his momma, Randi Mahomes, did. Just like the rest of the fans, Randi was obviously heartbroken. But in a recent IG post, she shared her support for her son. “Not the ending we wanted, but so incredibly proud of Patrick and this team. No matter what, I’ll always be your biggest cheerleader, son.” And guess who came to show love to his sad mom with a heartfelt comment on her post? Patrick’s lil’ bro, Jackson Mahomes. He wrote, “Love u.” with two heart emojis. Probably one for his mom and one for his brother.

Randi and his lil’ bro have always been by his side. Patrick shares a deep bond with both of them. Jackson even recently shared Patrick’s message after the game on his IG story. The message read, “Appreciate all the love and support from Chiefs Kingdom. I let y’all down today. I’ll always continue to work and try to learn and be better for it. Want to give thanks to God for every opportunity He has given me.” We all need a Jackson in life—someone who’s always there to back us up. His mom was even rooting for him when she came to X after the halftime show. “Let’s go!!!” Randi wrote.
In the post-game conference after SB LIX, Patrick reflected on the tough loss. “It’s hard to come back from that in the Super Bowl. I have to learn from that and try to be better the next opportunity that I hopefully get. I didn’t play to my standard, and I have to be better next time.” That’s the kind of mindset that separates the greats—owning up to mistakes and coming back stronger. But when a team loses, it’s never just their loss. Their loved ones feel the same pain, and they need to find their own way to heal too.

How did Randi Mahomes find comfort after the Chiefs’ loss?
You know how mothers are, right? They’ll always be there to comfort you but will never show when they need one. In her recent post, Randi Mahomes shared a picture with someone who must’ve given her the strength to stay strong. It was none other than FIFA World Cup champion, Barcelona legend, and current Inter Miami star—Lionel Messi. Yes, you read that right. The only person in the stadium with more fans than Taylor Swift, who was also in attendance. Randi posted a picture of herself hugging Messi, and you could see the genuine smile on her face—one of those rare, heartwarming moments amid the heartbreak.
Even Patrick Mahomes himself has spoken about how much he admires Messi. “He’s the GOAT of his profession, and to have someone like that at the game, it will be awesome because I’ll get to showcase who I am and what talent I have,” Patrick said. Trust me, if there’s anyone who can truly understand Mahomes’ pain, it’s Messi. The Argentine legend has lost more championships than Patrick ever has. Back in 2014, Messi came so close to lifting the FIFA World Cup, only to fall short. It wasn’t until 2022 that he finally got his hands on the trophy. If anyone knows what it’s like to endure heartbreak before finally reaching the mountaintop, it’s him.
