On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs are set to face the Las Vegas Raiders. Following a defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles (21-17), the Chiefs stand at 7-3 in the league. While the Raiders are at 5-6. This matchup marks a divisional rivalry, with the Chiefs currently leading the AFC West division, whereas the Raiders hold the number 3 position.

In their recent games, Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes has struggled to lead his team to victory, securing only one win out of the last three games. However, there might be good news for Mahomes, as Raiders’ Defensive End Maxx Crosby is probably going to miss the game due to a knee injury. Crosby is recognized as one of the best defensive players in the league. His absence could significantly benefit Mahomes and his team.

In the final injury report on Friday, the Raiders have listed Crosby as ‘Doubtful’. Throughout this entire week, Crosby has not participated in any practice sessions. Although the Raiders’ team management has not clarified whether he will be able to play in Sunday’s game, it is highly unlikely that he will set foot on the field.

In response to the question about Crosby playing in Sunday’s game, Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce said, “A guy that plays every snap, you’ve got to take care of him. So, one thing about him, if he can be there Sunday, he’ll be there.” If Crosby does not turn up on the field, it will be the first game of his career that he will miss.

This season, he has accumulated 10.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, and 17 quarterback hits. When asked about playing against Crosby, Mahomes said, “I don’t like playing against him because I know what type of player he is and the mindset that he comes in with.” He continued, “He wants to win as much as anybody, and that’s why I have so much respect for him, but at the end of the day, we’re competing.”

If Crosby somehow manages to play the game, witnessing the battle between him and Mahomes would be intriguing.

Chiefs vs Raiders

This season has been marked by inconsistency for the Raiders. However, following the exit of head coach Josh McDaniels, the team has shown relative improvement under interim coach Pierce. Under his leadership, they have won two games and lost one. Notably, the Raiders’ defense outshines their offense. They currently rank 13th in total defense. Aidan O’Connell, who has been given the starting job under Pierce, has shown some great game. His performance in the last three games is evidence of his potential, having thrown for 946 yards and 3 TDs
