The season is in the 3rd week now. And the list of injured players keeps getting long and long. So does the list of transfers. With a fractured fibula, Isiah Pacheco is ruled out for several weeks. After putting Pacheco on the Injured Reserve (IR) list, Chiefs have already moved on to the next step and brought in Kareem Hunt. Patrick Mahomes is happy with the recent development.

He said, “A guy that plays hard, plays physical, can catch the ball out of the backfield. He still has explosion in between the tackles.” The running back and the quarterback arrived together in the team in 2017. Hunt remained there for one more year (till 2018) before moving on to the Browns. His departure wasn’t on good terms.

Let’s jog down the memory lane. A video went viral in which Hunt was seen beating a woman at a Cleveland hotel. But the MVP quarterback is expecting a change of heart in his old teammate, saying, “At the end of the day, I root for the person. He’s become a better and better person. I’m glad to have him back in the building.” For now, Hunt has been added to the practice squad.

A rookie sensation, Hunt was a Pro Bowler in his starting year (2017) as he had most rushing yards (1,327) in the league. In 2 years at Chiefs, he recorded 2,151 rushing yards with 2,984 scrimmage yards. He didn’t have much success in 5 seasons with Browns, having only 2,285 rushing yards with 3,342 scrimmage yards. In his comeback, he his role is more of a veteran.

Head Coach Andy Reid is ready for the next moves.

Everyone was asking if he would play in the week 3 games against the Falcons. The coach clearly said that they would like to put him to practice and see how it goes. But he did mention that Hunt has a high chance of playing against Falcons.

Later, he shared Mahomes‘ views on the RB. Stating that when they let go off of the running back; it was necessary to take care of the business. However, he talked to Brown’s staff before bringing him back and feels that he has matured. Reid said, “He’s 29 years old now, so time flies, but he’s 29 years old. It looks like he’s grown up some.

Chiefdom is waiting for an update. The game against Bengals was a tense one. Even the locker room needs an edge. Will Patrick Mahomes partner with Hunt to level up? We’ll find out very soon.
