Are you ready for an exciting NFL season? Because the Chiefs certainly are! Patrick Mahomes and the team are potentially on the verge of creating NFL history by becoming the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls. In the first episode of “Scoop City” on July 16, head coach Andy Reid joined hosts Dianna Russini and former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel to talk everything about the KC.
Since this year, all eyes are on the Chiefs, the HC revealed the team’s motivation and approach a 3-peat. The audience can’t wait for the NFL to begin, and neither can the players. With the league’s pre-season set to start next month, Andy revealed how the team gives healthy competition to each other.
In the Scoop City episode, he stated, “I think the urgency level is still up. The guys are hungry. Rather than me having to do all of the encouragement for the competition, they’re doing it. You know whether it’s Pat or Bolton or Travis or Chris Jones, they have been here the whole time. These guys present a challenge for each other and I think it’s healthy.”

The team is currently attending a training camp at St. Joseph. On July 21, Chris Jones stated, “I’m being the best player I can be for this team, for this organization and also challenging my teammates to be better.” With players pushing each other to win the league, what do the experts think? On the July 17 episode of “Speak”, NFL analysts Emmanuel Acho, Dave Helman, and Joy Taylor agreed the Chiefs are on their way to achieving a three-peat. With Patrick Mahomes’ three Super Bowl victories, everyone’s betting on the Chiefs’ performance, especially after their big win in Super Bowl LVIII, Mahomes couldn’t stop talking about a three-peat.
Are the Chiefs Ready to Make History with a Three-Peat?
The entire Chiefs squad is fired up to secure a fourth Super Bowl title this year. And no matter how good Patrick Mahomes is, who is going to protect his blind side? And guess what? The Chiefs didn’t bring offensive lineman Donovan Smith back this season. Moreover, Wanya Morris and rookie Kingsley Suamataia can be seen competing for the offensive tackle. Morris had a rough patch in his rookie starts last season while replacing the injured Trey Smith. However, Trey is all set to guard the final season of the four-year contract with centre Creed Humphrey.

With the suspension of Rashee Rice hanging in balance, we don’t know what will be the impact on the team. Even if he plays initial matches, there is a chance that he might be suspended during the league.
Moreover, Suamataia was decent as a pass protector at BYU, though he struggled a bit with the run game. Even with Mahomes working his magic, the road to the Super Bowl isn’t easy for the Chiefs. While the Chiefs’ hunger and efforts are great, other NFL teams are just as determined to win the league. It’s going to be a tough fight! However, with what Andy Reid said and the way the Chiefs stand, let’s hope they have a great NFL season that creates history!
