In a recent post-game interaction, Patrick Mahomes addressed the incident of his helmet breaking during the game. Mahomes revealed, “they’re testing it right now,” referring to the damaged helmet. Later, he expressed his desire to retain it and said, “I’m adamant on getting the helmet after.” Mahomes definitely sees it as a unique keepsake.

He went ahead and said, “It’s definitely something that’s cool I’ll be able to keep for a long time.” Mahomes acknowledged the helmet’s protective role, he noted, “It did its job. I was perfectly fine after,” despite the crack. He also mentioned the need for adjustments. Mahomes said, “I’ll try to get this helmet to fit a little bit better.” The Super Bowl champion was comfortable making a joke about it as he went ahead to humorously say a message.

He said he plans for “Finding a place to store the extra helmet for the next game.” He ended the answer to the reporter’s question with this joke and they moved on to talk about other game-related things.
