Patrick Mahomes and the team entered Week 16 intending to clinch a playoff spot. However, that couldn’t happen when they fell short against the Las Vegas Raiders at 14-20. The Kansas City Chiefs will now have to wait for another game to get their goal accomplished. But amidst all qualification conversations, the Chiefs seem to have bigger concerns on their plate at the moment.

Although all is not lost for the side, their recent performances have been an unfortunate indicator of a potentially ‘falling dynasty.’ The former NFL punter, Pat McAfee, shared his thoughts on the Chiefs’ recent loss at Arrowhead. He addressed the piling concerns that have never bothered the KC team before, hence causing trouble unknown to the team.

In his latest episode of the ‘Pat McAfee Show,’ the host discussed the Chiefs’ recent struggles and the unexpected challenges they are facing. Pat McAfee emphasized that despite having positive influences like Santa Claus, Taylor Swift, and other good vibes around the team during the game, the Chiefs didn’t perform close to their actual potential in the Raiders game.

He said, “Chiefs look terrible….but it’s not just how they look on the field with all the good Juju around the team.” He added how for him the side does not look to be ‘blessed’ enough anymore, meaning they seem to have the luck in their opposition on the field. His comment indicated how the team seems to have everything going right for them, except the main element of football.

McAfee continued, “Yesterday was one of the windiest games I think I’ve ever seen….whenever you see Travis Kelce moving late Devonte Adams moving his hands late balls like kind of floating hovering you would assume it was pretty Gusty out there.” Battling against nature was not the only challenge particularly for the team, as they could not secure the victory against their rivals despite keeping the Raiders on the back foot in the initial quarter.

The former Punter also highlighted the recent moments of anger of Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes on the sidelines. Per McAfee, the dynasty seems to be looking to fall in the sense that a team we expect to be cheerful even during troubled times has been displaying numerous rough moments on the field for the NFL world to witness.

He concluded by saying, “So what can go wrong did go wrong and is currently going wrong for the Kansas City Chiefs and we’re in a place that we haven’t been in a long long time I think this year is potentially a we’re going to sit this one out year for the Kansas City Chiefs.

McAfee and his company believe the Chiefs are deviating from their usual successful season, and the recent display on the field indicates the same unfortunately.

When a team is winning, it can hide several problems, but the opposite is true when they are losing. The defending champions had a rough outing on Christmas Day and currently have a record of 9-6 in the season. Since the end of October, they have won only three out of eight games, and their unstoppable offense now looks more human. Looking at different aspects of the team’s performance, their passing is ranked 4th best, receiving 14th, run blocking 17th, pass blocking 9th, and running 10th – suggesting a potential for recovery for the team.

But the team’s turnover percentage is a cause for concern, ranked at 27th. The biggest worry is the Chiefs’ inconsistent offense this season, which is unexpected given their usual high standards. Issues like turnovers, penalties, inconsistent line plays, dropped passes, and overall poor performance, including the team’s lack of unity & connection by most wide receivers, feel like problems that the team needs to address from within.

Although the Chiefs still have a high chance of making it through the playoffs, they need to address these issues soon if they wish to continue their Super Bowl-winning legacy.
