A quiet week in the NFL? Yeah, right. And leave it to Pat McAfee to make sure things stay loud. If there’s one thing McAfee’s known for, it’s calling it exactly how he sees it. This time, he’s not holding back on Indianapolis’ front office or Anthony Richardson’s situation. The details? Let’s just say it’s not exactly flattering for the Colts.

Pat McAfee has some serious thoughts on Anthony Richardson

The Colts’ season with Richardson has been a rollercoaster. That’s no new news. The QB would get injured mid-game, and then—surprise!—he’s back at practice after a quick ‘recovery’. Pat McAfee pointed this out and said, “That one little tap-out thing was an indicator of how the entire culture in that building is. If your franchise QB thinks it’s all right just to be like, nope, I don’t want to be on the field. If he thinks it’s okay to just not work hard.”

He didn’t just drop those fiery lines and call it a day—oh no, he came armed with receipts to back them up. He doubled down, diving into how Richardson’s supposed lack of effort even got him benched. Yep, remember Weeks 9 and 10? Richardson was riding the pine, and McAfee made sure everyone knew why—or at least, why he thought so.

Well, Richardson understood his flaws and began to improve his game. Furthermore, the team’s administration and head coach began to encourage him to return. But why didn’t they do this sooner when he was skipping games? This was the exact question Pat McAfee raised against the entire squad. The analyst claimed, “After the benching, it’s like he started preparing a lot better. He became the guy who was the first one in. He started becoming a professional after the benching. The OGs had to go talk to him. It’s like, well, what had been happening before that moment.”

Oh, but wait—it gets better. Just as McAfee was wrapping up his roast of the Colts, he pointed out that as Richardson started stepping up his game, some Colts players allegedly started giving him the side-eye, painting him as the bad guy. In classic McAfee fashion, he went full Boomstick, tearing into the entire team, dropping the ultimate mic line: “They’ve won absolutely nothing.” But Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin wasn’t about to let McAfee have the last word.

Is Pat McAfee right about the Colts' culture, or is he just stirring the pot?

McAfee is not one to turn back on his words. He even admitted live on air that Colts fans were justified in hating him. But it may not just be the fans. If you recall, Zaire Franklin, on his podcast, had stated, “Use your platform responsibly. And pick a side. Whose team is y’all on?” While the jab was not directly aimed at Pat, we all knew what the undertone was from Franklin.

Although Pat never responded to that criticism at the time, it appears that his frustration from that time has come out today. Once he had let it all out, he took one final swing for good measure at the team. He brought up the Colts’ Week 18 matchup against the Jaguars—a team that had already handed them an L earlier this season. He mocked Indianapolis for not being able to take down a team that, in his words, wasn’t exactly setting the league on fire. And the reason? Well, apparently, according to Pat, the players are too busy ‘doing podcasts‘ instead of focusing on their game plan.

“At least there’s something to have hope for going into the final week. Jacksonville. Wow. Can’t beat anybody but the Colts, which goes back to you guys still talking, doing podcasts, acting like you’re something.” Classic Pat.

Cheap shot or not, McAfee definitely took his swing—and subtlety? Never heard of it. If anything, he went full throttle. So, grab your popcorn, folks—this drama’s heating up faster than you think.
