Pat McAfee, Aaron Rodgers and the Jets

The 2024 season had been a nightmare for Aaron Rodgers – no wonder he’s out of the country for a while. First, the QB couldn’t manage to put wins in the team’s column. Then he was blamed for being the driving force behind HC Robert Saleh‘s firing. And when the Jets’ head coach hiring saga began, former Jets coach Rex Ryan, who badly wanted the job, didn’t mince his words. Bashing Rodgers for missing minicamp, Ryan said, “Clearly, when you have a guy that doesn’t show up for mandatory minicamp. And by the way, he’s your quarterback coming off an injury. I think that’s a ridiculous message you send to the team.” The QB was vacationing in Egypt at the time of the mini practice camp.

Fast forward to the second week of February this year – the Jets reportedly had two conditions for Rodgers if he were to continue his journey with the team. Condition number one: No vacationing during the team’s practice camps and mandatory attendance at all practice sessions. And condition number two was, ‘no outside media appearances, including The Pat McAfee Show, where Rodgers often made appearances.’ Well, the 41-year-old is free from all these shackles now that he has parted ways with the Jets.

So, people in Pittsburgh, will you be seeing Aaron Rodgers in your city? Sadly, NO! Rodgers will not be joining Pat in Pennsylvania. But he is expected to return to the show once he’s back in the country. “Aaron, from our sources, [is] currently out of the country. When [he] gets back, [he] will join the progrum [sic],” shared McAfee. The ESPN host also dropped an interesting tidbit about Rodgers’ future in the NFL. “I did ask about [the] Rams situation to our sources. Open to everything, attached to nothing. Big fan of Sean McVay, though,” wrote McAfee in one of his X posts.

The Rams might have to part ways with their Super Bowl-winning QB Matthew Stafford after allowing him to explore trade options. If they do say goodbye to Stafford, they’ll need a QB. And for now, Rodgers could buy them a year or two to think about their next move. So, what’s going to unfold in this crazy NFL town? Stay tuned to find out!
