Papa Kelce Officially Confirms $1.95 Trillion Worth Corp’s Interest in Jason & Travis Kelce’s ‘New Heights’ Podcast

There is no doubt that Jason and Travis Kelce‘s podcast ‘New Heights’ is extremely popular. In addition to becoming the #1 Sports Podcast on Apple and Spotify, it recently bagged the ‘Podcast of the Year’ felicitation at the 2024 iHeartPodcast Awards. Owing to its popularity, Amazon, which has a market capitalization of $1.95 trillion, has shown interest in it.

As per rumors, the podcast and Amazon could strike an 8-figure deal. Amazon may have plans to add New Heights to their platform Wondery, which features a selection of premium podcasts. But did Papa Kelce approve of this deal? Jason and Travis Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, kind of confirmed the news when he shared the same on his Facebook profile.

Well, there are no official reports of the deal yet. It is said that both parties are still talking, but Papa Kelce did not shy away from taking pride in his sons’ work. After all, from the 2022-2023 season to the 2023-2024 season, the sports podcast hosted by Jason and Travis Kelce witnessed a 98% jump in viewership. From an average of 973,000 views per episode, the audience nearly doubled to 1.92 million per episode.

And it doesn’t end there. According to reports, since Taylor Swift’s first appearance at a Chiefs game, the viewership of the New Heights podcast increased by 50%. These numbers only confirm what we already know: NFL fans love the Kelce brothers and they cannot get enough of their banters and insights into the football world.

Hence, this is not the only media or entertainment appearance the two brothers have been making recently. Ever since announcing his retirement, Jason Kelce has continued to enthrall his fans with his appearances at various events. From entering the ring of WrestleMania to throwing baseball pitches at Philadelphia Phillies games, the older Kelce brother has not fallen short in the arena of entertainment.

Further, the news surrounding Jason joining the ESPN ‘Monday Night Countdown’ show for the coming season has left many excited. However, the former Philadelphia center clarified that it is not yet confirmed. “Nothing has been officially inked yet or announced yet but, obviously, there’s been a lot of reports out there about me going to ESPN and I think time will kind of take care of that but it’s a tremendous honor to even be considered to potentially work there.” The intrigue of seeing Jason take over the media career is a hard one to sideline.

For his younger brother Travis Kelce, the fame of dating Taylor Swift, the podcast’s popularity, and his unmatched skills as the Chiefs’ tight-end have opened up new doors. It was recently reported that Travis Kelce was filming for his upcoming stint in Ryan Murphy’s new FX horror series Grotesquerie. This newfound popularity has undoubtedly opened new doors for the Kelce brothers.

Jason and Travis Kelce’s run-ins with Amazon

This is not the first time Jeff Bezos’ trillion-dollar brand has shown an interest in the Kelce brothers. Prime Video, Amazon’s streaming service, recently announced that Travis Kelce would be hosting a spin-off of the iconic show ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?’ The new show called ‘Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?’ will be the Chiefs’ All-Pro Tight End’s first stint as a game show host.

Travis Kelce, however, is not unfamiliar with the workings of a television show. After all, the NFL superstar has previously caught the eyes with his reality dating show, called ‘Catching Kelce’. In the new game show, Kelce is expected to be the host for all its 20 episodes that will be produced by MGM Alternative, a division under MGM Studios of Amazon.

“I grew up loving game shows, and I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first one with Are you Smarter than a Celebrity?” remarked Travis Kelce about his new journey. “The original show is a great success, so to be bringing a new format with everyone’s favorite celebrities to the screen, will definitely be entertaining. I’m just happy to be on the hosting side of the equation here and excited to see how these famous faces keep up.”

As for Jason Kelce, Prime Video released a documentary titled Kelce on September 12, 2023, which focused on the personal life and career of the Philadelphia Eagles’ icon. Kelce immediately became the most-watched documentary in the U.S. and remained in the Top 5 weeks after its release. It indicated the interest of the audience in the journey of the star and his decision to choose to continue in the league despite a heartbreaking end to the 2022 season. If history is any indication, Amazon will probably score a big win if the New Heights deal does reach its culmination.
