Jason Kelce can be the “best NFL analyst since John Madden“

Marcus Hayes of The Philadelphia Inquirer recently expressed his opinions on Kelce’s latest pregame analyst endeavors. The seasoned columnist feels the retired NFL star could be the best analyst in the league after former Super Bowl Champion John Madden. Said article not only reached Philadelphia fans but also caught the eye of Ed Kelce. The proud father of the NFL brothers shared Haye’s article on his Facebook account, showing his support for Kelce’s future in television.

Jason will be replacing Robert Griffin III and will share the studio with Ryan Clark and Marcus Spears. The Inquirer writer spoke highly of the Eagles’ former star’s honest and larger-than-life personality, which would make him an entertaining and intelligent figure to watch in the halftime show.

Kelce is expected to be a combination of “the enthusiasm of Madden, the knowledge of [Troy] Aikman, and the candor of [Cris] Collinsworth,” along with his own dash of humor. Haye is also hopeful that Kelce will overtake Tony Romo and Tom Brady due to his authenticity and passion, despite earning much less than those big names.

Kelce would earn $35 million less than Brady

The New England Patriots legend is set to join Fox as lead commentator with a 10-year deal. The contract is worth $375 million; Brady will earn $37.5 million per year, while Romo earns $17 million. Compared to these humungous figures, Kelce is slated to earn around $1.8 million annually. While Haye estimates that Kelce would be earning over $20 million annually within the next couple of years, the columnist feels that the retired star would still “be underpaid.”

However, the Philadelphia loyalist can’t wait to get into the booth and relive his childhood memories. “It’s Monday night freaking football,” Kelce said, as per the Philadelphia Inquirer. “My brother and I grew up watching Monday Night Football, glued to the television waiting for it to start. We’d be in the locker room excited to get out there in primetime as players. I know what’s going on in those guys’ heads. And now to still be able to take part in that as an analyst, I’m really excited.”
