One rivalry in the NFL that has stretched for decades is the Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears. Starting in 1921, the Bears dominated the Pack until the 1980s before the Packers dominated them in the 1990s. After 2 decades of wins and losses, the Green and the Gold are on the biggest win streak, with 10 wins against the Bears since 2019. And at the center of his streak has been the 4x MVP Aaron Rodgers. The QB never misses a chance to troll Da Eber Floozies, even after leaving the Pack.

While discussing the Packers vs Bears’ last game in 2023 on The Pat McAfee Show, he took another dig at the Bears and said, “We’ve won nine in a row. … Is it a rivalry anymore? If they can’t beat us, is it a rivalry?” Showing no signs of mellowing down, he threw flak at them again on the Pardon My Take podcast. While discussing the Packers vs Detroit Lions game which had ‘The Miracle in Motown’ play, Dan ‘Big Cat’ Katz revealed that Detroit Don had done the calculations for the Lions to reach playoffs. Rodgers playfully roasted them by saying, “Sounds like a Bears fan.” But things look different now, with the Packers’ QB Jordan Love.

Love mentioned the Packers vs Bears as his favorite rivalry in the NFL during his discussion with Kay Adams on Up And Adams Show. However, when Adams said that it’s not a rivalry in recent times, the QB ducked the comment and cheekily said, “You said it, not me.” The young QB showed humility there. And he also had a piece of advice for rookie Bears QB Caleb Williams.

He didn’t answer Adams’ question, “What should Williams do to make it a rivalry?” But he praised the rookie and suggested he learn and absorb the lessons. Love added, “I love the way he plays. So I think him just be himself. You know, it’s his rookie year. There’s a lot of growing he got to do. But just be himself and take it one day at a time.” He’s right because the rookie season will indeed be challenging for Williams.

For now, the spotlight is on Love, who recently signed a record contract extension with the Packers. He’s also working on head coach Matt LaFleur’s advice.

Coach’s special words for Jordan Love

In 2023, Love led the Packers to the playoffs with 4,159 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. While they lost to the San Francisco 49ers in divisional playoffs, the QB is a favorite of cheeseheads since then. While he is trying to become better than his predecessor (Rodgers), LaFleur is also helping him get stronger mentally. His first advice to Love was, “The first thing he told me when I took over was just to be myself. Don’t try and be Aaron, don’t try and be anybody else that’s been here.” And he’s looking rock solid in his role, with the franchise trusting him.

The Pack signed a 4-year $220 million contract extension with the QB. It includes a $75 million signing bonus and $155 million in guaranteed money. This put him among the highest-paid QBs (with a $55 million annual salary) in the league. Most Packers fans have praised the management for the decision.

The first Packers game will now be held in Brazil in less than a month (on September 6). Trying to help his fans, the QB did a giveaway of ‘2 tickets with all expenses covered.’ The question now is, will Jordan Love be able to repeat the 2023 season? If he does, fans would like him to go all in and win Super Bowl.
