What a game that was! The NFL playoffs are known to bring thrills to the table. Hence, Washington Commanders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were determined to draw the excitement on Sunday. As in the game’s final seconds, Jayden Daniels’s team snatched three points over the Bucs winning the wildcard round. So, the congratulatory messages are in order.
The latest one to join in wishing Jayden Daniels’s team is tennis player Frances Tiafoe. Well, there’s a background to this wish. On December 22, Tiafoe requested Jayden Daniels and the Commanders to stop the Eagles from getting through in the next game. Back to the present, while wishing after his Australian Open victory in the first round, he made a mistake by saying, “Philly was winning by a lot before I came on. So, I’m sure they won. Let’s not have these Eagles fly, man. Let’s get them out here too.” However, let us remind you all, that although the Eagles have won the game against the Packers, they aren’t playing with the Commanders.

Yes! The Commanders are up next against the Lions, who are currently sitting at no. 1 seed. So, at that time, Tiafoe didn’t know that the Commanders were playing against the Lions, he thought that they would be playing against the Eagles. Thus, he made a request to Jayden Daniels and the coach, Dan Quinn.
Nevertheless, besides these, Frances Tiafoe made sure to give a shout out to Jayden Daniels, Dan Quinn, and the rest of the team. During an interview from the sidelines post-game at the Australian Open, he said, “Shoutout Jayden Daniels. Shoutout to my man Terry McLaurin. That’s so big for DMV.” Indeed, it’s a proud moment for Washington, as this is the first time they have won a playoff game since 2005.
Jayden Daniels and Dan Quinn’s bond did the incredible!
As no. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Jayden Daniels was selected by the Commanders for a better future. And it seems the good fortune has come for the franchise, as in the rookie season itself, Daniels helped lead into the divisional round.
No doubt, Jayden Daniels was the hero of the night. With a bloody face and a bandage under his eye, he ran for a crucial first down. That set up Zane Gonzalez’s 37-yard field goal, which bounced off the upright and miraculously went in as time expired. The Commanders pulled off a thrilling 23-20 win over the Buccaneers, breaking a playoff drought of nearly 7,000 days.

In total, Daniels finished off the game with 24 out of 35 attempts for 268 yards and two touchdowns. He led his team to an unforgettable victory at the last moment, as in a post-game interview, he said: “It means a lot, man. You could just see all the fans over here, man, they’re waiting for us. They’ve waited a long time for this moment and this feeling, so I’m just so happy for them.”
However, the challenging road isn’t over yet! They have the No.1 seed Detroit Lions coming up next in the divisional round. Will they win this one too?
