Erin Andrews, One of the best sideline reporters in the NFL, did not even start her career in football. Looking back, Andrews’ journey in the broadcast would not have taken off had it not been for the unconditional support from an explosive personality who saw more than just a rookie in her. Back in 2002, when Andrews was just 22, she was too intimidated by the Tampa Bay Lightning HC John Tortorella—who was not thrilled about getting a young female sideline reporter fresh out of school—after she got her 1st long-term gig.

But to Tortorella’s surprise, he was left stunned when Andrews asked about the impact of the Lightning defenseman on the team, considering his recent form. Tortorella had to stop the media scrum and appreciate Andrews for asking a tough question despite having little knowledge about the sport. It was at that moment Tortorella realized Andrews wasn’t just another young reporter. She was destined for something bigger. Now, 24 years later, when her contract with Fox is over, the 46-year-old could be eyeing a full-circle moment—one that might just take her back to where it all began.

Well, the Super Bowl fever is already over, and seems like Andrews is already switching things up. So, today, when Andrews is out of contract after a three-year extension back in 2022 at FOX covering for the NFL, it shouldn’t surprise our readers that Andrews is going back to her roots, stepping away from the football sidelines and hitting the ice with her husband, former NHL star Jarret Stoll.

Andrews just announced on Instagram that she and Stoll will be part of Skate for LA Strong on February 23, an event hosted by the LA Kings to support wildfire recovery efforts. Andrews will be there as a celebrity guest, while Stoll is suiting up as an NHL legend. No, this doesn’t mean she’s making a full-time jump to covering hockey, but it’s definitely an interesting time for her to be aligned with the NHL world, considering her media-free agency.

But this isn’t just a chill night on the ice—it’s all about giving back. The LA Kings are donating all tickets to first responders and families hit hardest by the wildfires, making sure they get a well-deserved break. On top of that, the team is raising funds and awareness to support those affected, proving once again that sports can do way more than just entertain.

Erin Andrews ate at Super Bowl LIX

Erin Andrews was everywhere during Fox Sports’ Super Bowl LIX coverage, reminding everyone why she’s the goat of sideline reporting. She brought the energy, the insights, and the kind of coverage that keeps fans locked in. Whether she was hyping up the game, dropping real-time updates, or catching post-game reactions, Andrews had the mic on.

Her biggest flex? Snagging the first post-game interview with Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts. After the Eagles won against the Chiefs 40-22, she pulled up to get Hurts’ raw thoughts. She got him reflecting on the grind, the win, and even hit him with a throwback: “You walking off the field at the Super Bowl with the red and yellow confetti falling… is it still the screen saver?” Hurts laughed and said, “Yeah. Oh, it is.” That moment? Pure gold.

She also had a real moment with Travis Kelcetoo, showing up to console him after the tough loss. Instead of just grabbing a mic and dipping, she took a second to check in, proving once again that she’s got genuine connections in the sports world. “I didn’t want to bug him,” she later shared, knowing it was a rough night for the Chiefs’ star. That’s the mix of professionalism and authenticity that makes her a fan favorite. Safe to say, she ate and left no crumbs at Super Bowl LIX.
